Dragonwilds:Icthlarin's Little Helper

Template:Infobox Quest Icthlarin's Little Helper is the eighth primary quest and the fourth in the main storyline of RuneScape: Dragonwilds. In this quest, the Player proceeds past the door to the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands after spilling the blood of the Black Knight Titan to uncover the mysteries of the desert before finally entering the Dragonwilds:Scorned Wilderness.

Walkthrough

The Scorching Blood

After defeating the Black Knight Titan and talking to Avisk, head back to Dragonwilds:The Bastion and interact with the Door to the Umbral Sands. It is highly recommended that you do this during the night cycle at full rest. Once you have interacted with the door, you will arrive at the Dragonwilds:Alcarrid Oasis sub-region. You will need to find signs of life here, but you can speak to Dragonwilds:Shangruuh right as you arrive. Talk to him and he will say that he'd be very happy if you could travel to Alcarrid (his camp) in the south-east as it is his job to bring an envoy from the other regions. Walk past him and, before you walk deeper into the desert, Dragonwilds:Fuzan will come out and spew his fiery dragon breath on the desert. Venture out south-east from where you arrived and head towards the nearest oasis.

From there, you will need to speak to the leader of the Alcarrid. Get close to interact, and a bit of dialogue will pop up. It will start with Dragonwilds:Ancamairon speaking with Dragonwilds:Icthlarin about how their clan is only a years old and not ready to take on a dragon. After a moment of dialogue, speak to Dragonwilds:Icthlarin. He regrets that you and him haven't met on better terms, introduces himself, and says that souls are coming to him from Umbral Sands faster and faster. He then says that, after speaking with Death, he learned the culprit was Dragonwilds:Fuzan and he believes it is time to push back against the desert tyrant. He then talks about how there is no greater weapon than the Dragonwilds:Mirror Relay, which doesn't hold any lens at the moment. Once the relay has all three lens, Icthlarin mentions, it will be able to concentrate a light beam straight at Fuzan's volcano. He mentions that you have done some good in these veiled lands and begs you to do some more by gaining the trust of the Alcarrid people, gain their mirror lens, and collect two more to help strike back against Fuzan's reign.

Speak to Ancamairon and he will remark about how, in his first year as elder, he is stuck between a dragon and a demi-god. He mentions that, while Icthlarin is convincing, it won't be enough for his people and bow to his whims. He will continue by saying his people do not trust the gods (as it went badly for them in the past), but can learn to trust you instead. He then pleads for your help with any tasks his people may require and, once there is enough trust between you and them, he will give you the mirror lens. Accept the burden placed in front of you and he will thank you for your acceptance.

Note: Interacting with the door to the Umbral Sands will play a small introduction cutscene to the region.

One Small Favour Pt. I

After accepting the task given to you by the Moon Garou elder, you will need to gain the trust of the tribesmen. Within that oasis, there are three garou that might need help.

• Dragonwilds:Valas - They are the blacksmith directly south of the elder and Icthlarin.
• Dragonwilds:Domri - They are a merchant a little north-west of the elder and Icthlarin.
• Dragonwilds:Lagra - they are a butcher south-west from the elder and Icthlarin.

Speak to any of them to start the tasks needed to convince the elder of the Alcarrid tribe.

Domri - the Merchant

Item(s) required: Mihril or better Pickaxe, inventory space

Speak to Domri and they will remark about how you would come to them and how the whole camp is talking about the human and dog who want to take their mirror lens. They will remark about how they are the tribe's trader and they connect to everyone here, allowing you to earn some reputation with them all with their good word. They remark it won't be easy and how they want three moonstones, a rare gem that most Moon Garou doubt it even exists, and they want to hold them in their hands. They say that, if you want their help with the Elder, you need to find three moonstones that are likely hidden in the western area of the desert hidden under some Dragonwilds:Gypsum nodes within rocky areas or caves.

This will give you a small quest in green colours called "Rogue Trader" and list potential areas to find moonstones.

Speak to Domri again once you have all three moonstones. When you talk to them again with all three moonstones, they can scarcely believe that you brought them moonstones. After remarking about how they weren't supposed to exist (hinting that they didn't believe they existed at all) and how they thought they were leading you on an impossible chase, they keep their promise. They will help put in a good word in with the elder and the rest of the tribe about the mirror lens as well as open their trading store with you.

Note: By completing reputation quests, you can unlock more items to trade with him including unique vestiges.

Valas - The Blacksmith

Item(s) required: 3x Adamant Bars

Speak to Valas and they will remark about how your task to repair the mirrors smells like folly to them. They commend your spirit, but then tell you how the mirrors are sacred to them because of the River Goddess placing them there to remind them of who must protract Umbral Sands. They then say that, before the mirror lens can be added, the frames have to be fixed. They say that the frames are all mangled as they currently are and asks you to bring them three Adamant Bars to repair the mirrors.

This will give you a small quest in green colours called "The Mirror Crack'd" in your map.

Note: You can mine some adamant ore nodes scattered throughout the region and collect nine ores to make three bars (plus the coal to make them too) or skip that if you have already done so.

Speak to Valas again when you have the bars. Click on Option 1 to hand over the bars and they will say that they will fix the mirrors for you when you collect all of the lens. They will inform the elder of your part in getting that job done and give you a nice farewell. They will also give you 200 Dragonwilds:Garou Chit for your troubles.

Lagra - The Butcher

Item(s) required: Three raw farm meat, three Kalphite Shell Fragments, and three Cactus Steaks

Speak to Lagra and they will greet you by calling you a "lovely human" and make weird food puns like "it is tasty that you see me" and "it delects my eyes to see you." This is clarified that Lagra does not speak human tongue often (or fluently) and that they are Moon Garou, but soon gets down to business. They want you to help them with a task and clarify that they are a butch (or butcher) and want you to bring them three of the following: Dragonwilds:Raw Farm Meat, Dragonwilds:Kalphite Shell Fragments, and Cactus Steaks.

This will give you a small quest in green colours called "Rag and Bone Garou" in your map.

Note: You can collect the raw Farm Meat from nearby vultures, Goats, or from your own chests if you have any. The shell fragments can also be found by killing Kalphites in the desert or if you have some already. As for Cactus Steaks, you only need to chop down one or two bunny cactuses with an Adamant (or better) Logging Axe or collect them from your chests.

Speak to Lagra again when you got the items. Choose Option 1 to hand over the meats and they will praise your work by saying that you have an eye for dead tissue and exoskeletons. They will give you their trust and give you 200 Garou Chit for your troubles.

Once you have completed the three tasks above, return to Ancamairon. He will mention that the Alcarrid clan now trusts you and that the butcher has even made a dish after you. He then continues by saying thet the clan has had a council meeting and decided to give you their Mirror Lens and that he hopes they don't regret it. Before giving you the lens, he mentions that he wants to give you a personal gift. His partner is a weaver and remarks that she made you something. He says that it will help bear you over quicksand and make navigating the desert a little easier. It is even blessed by Moon Sprites, but he remarks that you'll need it as to complete the relay, you'll need to collect the lenses from both the Uzzer to the east and Manafem to the south. He even persuaded Domri to make more goods available to you as he was holding the good stuff back.

Note: For completing the quest this far, you get level 4 reputation with Domri, the new Magic Carpet mount, and a Moon Garou Pack.

After completing the tasks for the Alcarrid clan, you now have to navigate to other areas of the desert to collect their lenses. You can go to either the Manafem clan in the southern area of the desert (within the Dragonwilds:Manafem Plains) or the Uzzer clan in the east (within the Dragonwilds:Dunes of Uzzer) and speak to their respective elders to discuss building reputation and claiming the lenses.

Plight of the Manafem

Speak to Dragonwilds:Dúshlánach in the Manafem clan area. They will mention that you are a bad omen at a bad time, calling you Unmarked, and reveal they bear the Mark of Fuzan and how that mark is a wound that carves deep. From this Mark, they are slowly losing their will to fight and their sanity, but they do say that their pride is not being lost. They say that while the clan needs help, they are reluctant to accept it. This means that their tasks will be somewhat harder. Just like with the Alcarrid clan, there are three tasks that must be done to acquire their lens.

Laguna - The Bard

Speak to Laguna, who is sitting next to a net fishing spot. At first, they wonder if you are a mirage, but soon realizes you are real and introduces themselves. They say that they are the finest travelling bard this side of Kuldra's Tower and need your help with something. They came here to discover more about their great-great-grandfather and possibly write a song in his honour, but only got a disappointing answer from the clan members. They told them that "everything I need to know is in the Vault" and that his children wrote a song about him inscribed upon three statues within a pyramid-like vault to the south. They would like for you to venture into the Vault and write down the lyrics of the songs as they do not like beetles and heard that beetles reside within the Vault.

This will give you a small quest in green colours called "Song of the Ancients" in your map.

The vault they spoke of will be circled in green on your map.
