Template:External Template:Otheruses Template:Otheruses Template:Infobox Skill width=70x70Magic is one of the eleven Dragonwilds:Skills in Runescape: Dragonwilds and was released in Update 0.8. Magic is one of the three combat styles players can use. Dragonwilds:Combat spells can be cast to efficiently fight monsters from a distance, whereas utility spells have numerous uses.
In addition, players can gain experience from Magic Skill Tomes and special reward tomes like the Dragonwilds:Tome of the Dragon Slayer.
Equipment
Weapons
Magic Weapons currently consist only of staffs, of which there are several varieties. Staffs provide a passive rune damage multiplier to provide additional damage. Staffs are a two-handed weapon; thus, players cannot equip Dragonwilds:Shields while wielding staffs.
Armour
Players can earn set bonuses when wearing armour of the same combat type (i.e., melee, ranged, magic) and can mix and match within that type. For example, a player wearing a Dragonwilds:Ranger Hat (ranged), Dragonwilds:Dragonkin Mage Robes (magic), and Dragonwilds:Necromancer's Robe Bottom (magic) will get the second tier of magic set bonuses and the first tier of ranged set bonuses. The magic armour set bonuses are:
- 1/3 -50% stamina regen delay
- 2/3 +17.5% magic attack speed
- 3/3 +15% magic crit chance
Runes
Dragonwilds:Runes are used when casting spells. Currently, only Air Runes and Fire Runes can be used for combat magic. Players can select which Dragonwilds:Elemental Rune they want to autocast by going to the second tab of the inventory and right-clicking on the desired rune.
| Rune | Base
Damage |
Passive | "Arcane Expertise"
Combo Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air | 13-22 | Knockdown | Casts a wind tunnel AoE in front of the player, which knocks down enemies in its path. |

| Water | 7-13 | Slowness | Casts a tsunami effect and a small splash for healing the caster. |
| Fire | 6-10 | Burn | Casts a circular fire shower AoE on the ground for several seconds, which burns enemies who walk through it. |

Consumables
Dragonwilds:Magical Focus is a craftable item unlocked at level 39 Magic where players can imbue their equipped staff with a 15% damage multiplier for 10 minutes.
Utility spells
Players unlock utility spells by levelling various Dragonwilds:Skills, including but not limited to Magic. Some utility spells can assist with combat, while other spells are strictly used for skilling or gathering materials more quickly.
Players can access the Spell Book menu by pressing the Template:Key press-button (default).
The left half of the menu shows a list of available/unavailable utility spells. Unavailable spells are greyed out, meaning the player has not met the skill requirement to unlock the spell. Players can hover over the icon for a description of each spell.
The right half of the menu shows the spellbook players can customize with up to 12 utility spells they have unlocked. Players can drag-and-drop or point-and-click the desired utility spells to the spellbook. Players can also cycle between four different spellbooks for added customization.
Spellbook (wheel)
Players can access their customised Spellbooks by pressing the Template:Key press-button (default), which will open the wheel whilst still seeing the player's surroundings. Players can cycle between their four spellbook loadouts and point-and-click the desired utility spell, which will automatically exit the interface.
Boosts
Players can consume Dragonwilds:Potions, eat Dragonwilds:Food, or equip Dragonwilds:Trinkets to increase Magic experience received or damage dealt.
Unlike most other Dragonwilds:Skills however, there are no Magic experience potions.
- Dragonwilds:Lesser Magic Potion - Increases the chance of landing critical hits with magic by 25% for 10 minutes (600 seconds)
- Dragonwilds:Sweet Veg Ball - Grants a 10% XP boost for 5 minutes (300 seconds)
- Dragonwilds:Wild Pie - Grants a 10% XP boost for 10 minutes (600 seconds)
- Dragonwilds:Inspiring Amulet of Magic - Provides a 5% XP boost to Magic while worn
- Dragonwilds:Amulet of Magic - Increases magic damage by 12.5% while worn
- Dragonwilds:Glazed Pumpkin Sandwich - provides 10% XP boost for 10 minutes (600 seconds)
