Template:Infobox block A crimson fungus is a Minecraft:fungus found in crimson and Minecraft:warped forests or by Template:Ctrl Minecraft:bone meal on Minecraft:nylium. It can grow into a Minecraft:huge crimson fungus if bone mealed, but only if planted on Minecraft:crimson nylium. It can also be fed to Minecraft:hoglins.
Obtaining
Breaking
A crimson fungus can be mined instantly and always drops itself. Mining a Minecraft:flower pot containing a crimson fungus drops both items separately. Template:Breaking row
Natural generation
Crimson fungi naturally generate in the Minecraft:crimson forest and Minecraft:warped forest biomes, with crimson fungus most commonly generating in its respective biome, the crimson forest and less frequently in the other, the warped forest.
Mob loot
An Minecraft:enderman holding a crimson fungus drops the fungus upon death.
Generated loot
Post-generation
Applying Minecraft:bone meal to Minecraft:nylium causes crimson fungi to appear nearby, similar to Minecraft:flowers on Minecraft:grass blocks. While crimson fungi and other Nether vegetation can generate this way, they are more likely to be the same type as the nylium.
Usage
Placement
Crimson fungi may be placed on Minecraft:grass blocks, Minecraft:dirt, Minecraft:coarse dirt, Minecraft:podzol, Minecraft:farmland, Minecraft:rooted dirt, Minecraft:moss blocks, Minecraft:nylium, Minecraft:mycelium, Minecraft:soul soil, Minecraft:mud and Minecraft:muddy mangrove roots. Attempting to place it on any other block fails. Crimson fungi requires a solid block underneath it, and pops off and drops itself if it is no longer supported.
Crimson fungi can also be placed in Minecraft:flower pots.
Growth
When Minecraft:bone meal is Template:Ctrl on a crimson fungus that is planted on Minecraft:crimson nylium, it has a 40% chance to grow into a Minecraft:huge crimson fungus. The Minecraft:crimson stem, Minecraft:shroomlight, or Minecraft:Nether wart blocks may replace certain blocks including Minecraft:slabs and Minecraft:torches.
Breeding
Crimson fungus can be used to breed Minecraft:hoglins and keep them from despawning, but feeding hoglins does not stop them from attacking the player.
Composting
Placing a crimson fungus into a Minecraft:composter has a 65% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
