Old growth birch forests replace birch forests in positive weirdness and consequently often border rivers as well as their regular biome variant.
Like regular birch forests, old growth birch forests generate in temperate regions with moderately high humidities. However, old growth birch forests usually generate where weirdness is positive, so a Minecraft:river will often separate it from a regular birch forest, though they may also share a border directly. Old growth birch forests frequently border Minecraft:forests, Minecraft:dark forests, Minecraft:taigas, and Minecraft:sparse jungles.

Like birch forests, they generate in medium temperature between Minecraft:forests and Minecraft:dark forests in terms of humidity. They can also border Minecraft:taigas and Minecraft:jungles, as well as oceans or temperate Minecraft:mountains. Because of their high humidity, old growth birch forests commonly have Minecraft:lush caves beneath, but not when generated more inland.
Minecraft:Lush caves may generate beneath old growth birch forests due to their relatively high humidity.

Template:Infobox biome An old growth birch forest or birch forest mutated is a variant of the Minecraft:birch forest, notable for its trees, which are taller than those found in the normal birch forest.

Generation

Like regular birch forests, old growth birch forests generate in temperate regions with moderately high humidities. However, old growth birch forests usually generate where weirdness is positive, so a Minecraft:river will often separate it from a regular birch forest, though they may also share a border directly. Old growth birch forests frequently border Minecraft:forests, Minecraft:dark forests, Minecraft:taigas, and Minecraft:sparse jungles.

Minecraft:Lush caves may generate beneath old growth birch forests due to their relatively high humidity.

Description

The old growth birch forest features Minecraft:birch trees, half of which are significantly taller than normal with trunks up to 14 blocks tall. These tall birch trees are exclusive to the old growth birch forest and cannot be grown with a normal birch sapling. Minecraft:Bee nests can be found on 0.2%Template:Only or 0.035%Template:Only of the trees. Minecraft:Fallen trees can also be up to 14 blocks long.

Flower patches that naturally generate in the biome include Minecraft:rose bushes, Minecraft:lilacs, Minecraft:peonies, and Minecraft:lilies of the valley, as well as Minecraft:wildflowers covering the ground. Small patches of up to five Minecraft:bushes are also present.

Additionally, Minecraft:trail ruins may generate here as opposed to regular birch forests. Minecraft:Abandoned camps sometimes generate in old growth birch forests.

Mobs

The following mobs naturally spawn here:
