Template:Infobox biome A stony shore or stone beach is a coastal Minecraft:biome that is almost entirely made of Minecraft:stone and Minecraft:gravel. Stony shores replace Minecraft:beach biomes in some mountainous areas.
Generation
Stony shores replace normal Minecraft:beaches in areas of low erosion, often characterized by nearby hills or Minecraft:mountains. Rarely, stony shores can generate completely landlocked. Because they can generate at any temperature, stony shores commonly border a wide range of biomes, from Minecraft:snowy plains and Minecraft:deserts to temperate Minecraft:forests and Minecraft:plains.
Nearby, the Minecraft:deep dark often generates underground due to the low erosion, and can sometimes stretch into regions directly below the stony shore. In areas of high humidity, Minecraft:lush caves may generate higher up, while Minecraft:ice caves are relatively common in cold climates.Template:Upcoming
Description
Stony shores are made entirely of Minecraft:stone and variants, with long strips of Minecraft:gravel. They are usually a steep drop into the water they border. Stony shores may generate at high enough elevations to have Minecraft:snow on their peaks (above Y=120±8), even when bordering warm biomes.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> However, most of the surface is too warm for snowfall and ice, resulting in a large contrast with snowy biomes.
Template:IN, buried treasure can sometimes generate at high altitudes; Template:In, it doesn't generate here.<ref>Template:Bug</ref> Minecraft:Ores are often exposed in stony shores.
