Minecraft:Beach
More actions
Template:Distinguish Template:Infobox biome Beaches are common coastal Minecraft:biomes that serve as transition biomes from the mainland to an Minecraft:ocean. Beaches are covered entirely with Minecraft:sand and are the main source of Minecraft:turtles and Minecraft:buried treasures.
Generation
Beaches generate on the coast bordering non-deep Minecraft:oceans and most flatland biomes. Rarely, a beach generates completely land-locked.
Depending on the surrounding terrain, beaches can be wide and hilly, short and flat, or jagged with tall cliffs. Beaches are replaced by Minecraft:stony shores near Minecraft:mountains, or Minecraft:snowy beaches in frozen biomes. The coast may not always have a beach biome; land biomes can also directly border oceans, sometimes with tall cliffs.
Description
The beach biome consists entirely of Minecraft:sand with Minecraft:sandstone underneath, like Minecraft:deserts, but without any vegetation. Beach biomes, along with their sand, commonly continue underwater for a few blocks.
Minecraft:Buried treasures often generate buried under the sand, and Minecraft:shipwrecks occasionally generate stranded on beaches. Minecraft:Turtles may spawn here, but other animals cannot.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, beaches use a coolish humid volumetric fog setting, which slightly fades the distance in an orange tint. Beaches have default atmospherics, lighting, and color grading like temperate biomes.
