The deep frozen ocean is a deep variant of frozen oceans. Unlike the regular frozen ocean, the water surface is not covered with ice, though icebergs still generate in the water.
Generation
Deep frozen oceans replace Minecraft:deep oceans in the frozen temperature zones, next to frozen oceans and Minecraft:mushroom fields. They are twice as deep as regular frozen oceans, and may border Minecraft:deep cold oceans near higher temperatures.
Description
Like any other deep ocean, Minecraft:ocean monuments generate here. Minecraft:Icebergs generate like in normal frozen oceans, but unlike the normal frozen ocean, the water's surface is not frozen. The ocean floor consists of one layer of Minecraft:gravel,Template:Only followed by Minecraft:stone and variants without any vegetation, and few aquatic mobs spawn. Rare islands are also stony but may have some Minecraft:grass blocks with vegetation.
Similar to frozen oceans, deep frozen oceans have a temperature gradient. However, this is much warmer; at the cold areas it allows Minecraft:snowfall above Y=120±8, while at warm areas it Minecraft:rains everywhere. Due to the unfrozen water, Minecraft:polar bears, Minecraft:strays, and Minecraft:rabbitsTemplate:Only are much rarer, but may still spawn.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, deep frozen oceans use default environmental settings with a strong cold color grading, making the biome appear colder blue. They use cold sunlight, which is slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
Mobs
The following mobs naturally spawn here:
Sounds
Music
