The deep frozen ocean is a deep variant of frozen oceans. Unlike the regular frozen ocean, the water surface is not covered with ice, though icebergs still generate in the water.
Description
The deep frozen ocean is the rarest ocean biome, covering 1.12% of the Overworld's surface area and 3.78% of the total ocean area.
The deep frozen ocean biome generates at deeper waters and can also contain Minecraft:ocean monuments. Minecraft:Icebergs may still generate, but unlike the normal frozen ocean, the water's surface is not frozen.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, deep frozen oceans use default environmental settings with a strong cold color grading, making the biome appear colder blue.

Sounds
When in any ocean biome, unique ocean Minecraft:ambience play randomly. Normal overworld tracks also play, alongside "Axolotl", "Dragon Fish" and "Shuniji", as the requirements for those are merely to be underwater rather than biome-determined.

Trivia
- Before Minecraft:1.18, regular and deep frozen oceans could generate near any kind of biome. It was somewhat common to see an Minecraft:iceberg bordering a Minecraft:desert, Minecraft:savanna or Minecraft:badlands in Minecraft:Bedrock Edition. Until 1.18, frozen oceans had a rough regular ocean border to minimize this effect in Minecraft:Java Edition.
