Template:Infobox block A block of amethyst, known internally as an amethyst block, is a block found in Minecraft:amethyst geodes or crafted from Minecraft:amethyst shards. It can be placed next to a Minecraft:sculk sensor to "relay" received Minecraft:vibrations to other sculk sensors.
Obtaining
Breaking
A block of amethyst can be obtained by mining it with any Minecraft:pickaxe. When mined using any other Minecraft:tool, it drops nothing.
Natural generation
Blocks of amethyst generate naturally on the inner wall of Minecraft:amethyst geodes, with Minecraft:calcite and Minecraft:smooth basalt making up the next two outer layers.
Crafting
Usage
Sound
A block of amethyst makes a quiet overlay sound when generally interacted with, and makes louder sounds when hit by projectiles.
Vibration resonance
When a block of amethyst is placed adjacent to a Minecraft:sculk sensor or a Minecraft:calibrated sculk sensor, if that sculk sensor receives a Minecraft:vibration, the block of amethyst re-emits its frequency as a separate vibration at its location. This vibration can then be detected by another sculk sensor, allowing a chain of sculk sensors and amethyst blocks to be created, transmitting a signal wirelessly.
