Similar to Minecraft:grass blocks, the player can apply Minecraft:bone meal to crimson nylium. This nylium, along with nearby nylium, generates vegetation that occurs in its native biome (crimson nylium generates mostly Minecraft:crimson forest vegetation and warped nylium generates mostly Minecraft:warped forest vegetation), and just like in the native biomes, the opposite type of fungi occassionally generates. The vegetation is generated in a 5×5 area, centered on the nylium block on which bone meal is used.

The warped nylium and surrounding blocks attempt to position some vegetation from the Nether, according to the table below. Attempts placement 9 times in a 5×5 area around above the nylium, with a triangular distribution. In all cases, the vegetation can only replace air and be placed on blocks where the player can place vegetation.

Template:Distinguish

Template:Infobox block Crimson nylium is a variant of Minecraft:netherrack that generates in Minecraft:the Nether.

Obtaining

Breaking

Crimson nylium drops itself only when mined with a Minecraft:pickaxe enchanted with Minecraft:Silk Touch; if mined with a normal pickaxe, it drops Minecraft:netherrack. If mined without a pickaxe, it drops nothing.

Template:Breaking row

Natural generation

Crimson nylium generates in the Minecraft:crimson forest biome.

Template:Block distribution

Mob loot

Crimson nylium is dropped when an Minecraft:enderman dies while holding it.

Chest loot

Template:LootChestItem

Post-generation

Template:Ctrl Minecraft:bone meal on Minecraft:netherrack that is placed next to or adjacent to crimson nylium transforms the netherrack into nylium of that type. Minecraft:Air must be above the netherrack during this process. This transformation can also be done by activating a Minecraft:dispenser with bone meal directly into that netherrack block. If both types of nylium are present, there is an equal chance of either being spread.

Renewability

Template:Exclusive As Minecraft:netherrack generates in Minecraft:Nether portals spawn floating, using bone meal on netherrack turns them into nylium, making them renewable.

Usage

Similar to Minecraft:grass blocks and Minecraft:mycelium, crimson nylium decays (based on Minecraft:random ticks) into netherrack when an Minecraft:opaque block is placed above it. However, unlike grass blocks and mycelium, it does not decay underneath Minecraft:water or Minecraft:lava. It decays when covered with Minecraft:snow.

Like mycelium and Minecraft:podzol, Minecraft:mushrooms can remain on nylium blocks in any Minecraft:light level. Minecraft:Huge mushrooms can be grown by using bone meal on mushrooms planted on nylium.

Minecraft:Crimson Fungi can likewise be grown into Minecraft:huge crimson fungi using Minecraft:bone meal. However, bone meal cannot be applied to Minecraft:warped fungus on top of the crimson nylium, even if it can be positioned there, it is necessary to plant in Minecraft:warped nylium.

Similar to Minecraft:grass blocks, the player can apply Minecraft:bone meal to crimson nylium, when it has Minecraft:air above.
