Template:Infobox NPC Lehran - The Archaeologist is a Moon Garou located within the Dragonwilds:Dunes of Uzzer camp in Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands. They are one of the few NPCs to interact with in order to progress Dragonwilds:Icthlarin's Little Helper.

Lehran studies the history of their people, and tasks the player with recovering the Forbidden Scrolls buried beneath the ruins to the far south of the region. Their translation of the scrolls overturns much of what the Moon Garou believe about their own past. Lehran will not speak to the player about the Dragonwilds:Mirror Lens until they have observed the tribe's protocol and addressed the Uzzer Elder, Gaimbín, first. Once the player has done so, they offer an arrangement: they will vouch for the player with the Elder if they recover the four Forbidden Scrolls said to lie beneath the sands to the south, a site the Dragonwilds:KotHaar have prevented them from reaching themselves. A spade is required to dig them up. They require all four scrolls before they will interpret any of them. Once the full set is delivered, they petition the Elder on the player's behalf and invite them to return at any time to hear what the scrolls contained. They also open their trading goods to the player in exchange for moonstones.

The Forbidden Scrolls

Sourced From Dragonwilds:Transcript:Lehran - The Archaeologist

The four scrolls each contradict an accepted account of Moon Garou history. Lehran will discuss each in turn once all four have been recovered.

The schism

Garou tradition holds that Dragonwilds:Lougrim became High Queen through the rite of challenge, having bested all the elders of the tribe, and that Dragonwilds:Kuldra later took the title from her in a fair contest of skill and might. The scroll records otherwise. No challenge was ever issued. Lougrim had exhausted her power shielding garou villages from dragonfire, and Kuldra fell upon the wounded goddess and devoured her. Those garou who refused to submit to the new queen fled their homeland and became the Moon Garou. Lehran questions why the truth of the moment was suppressed.

The moon goddess

After Lougrim's death the Moon Garou wandered without a deity, until a child went missing in the sands and was found at an oasis that had appeared overnight, listening to the song of a stranger. She named herself a goddess of the river and a moon deity who had left her old kingdom behind, and taught the Moon Garou architecture and agriculture, giving them the mirrors that guard against supernatural threats. She departed the world once their civilisation was built. Garou histories name her El-Idahn-Inees; the scroll identifies her as Dragonwilds:Elidinis.

The Old Kingdom

The cities of the Old Kingdom were walled and vast, their streets shaded by hanging tapestries, with libraries of scrolls and festivals of light and song. The Moon Garou set aside the hunt for art, science, and magic. Accepted history holds that the kingdom was simply lost over time. The scroll attributes its destruction to Dragonwilds:Fuzan, who turned the sun against it.

The Sun Demon

Moon Garou histories place the Sun Demon's arrival many thousands of years ago, but the scroll dates it to shortly after Fuzan. She entrances her victims rather than killing them, remaking them into devout worshippers of the sun or of flame. Those afflicted commonly immolate themselves, perhaps as a form of sacrifice. Lehran draws a moral from the account, that curiosity should be paired with caution.
