Template:Infobox block A torchflower is an ancient<ref> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPJ2dzVcOgg</ref> Minecraft:flower obtained from harvesting Minecraft:torchflower seeds. It can be crafted into Minecraft:orange dye.
Obtaining
Torchflowers do not generate naturally and are obtained by growing a torchflower seed. Torchflower seeds can be obtained by using a Minecraft:sniffer to dig them up. Breaking a fully grown torchflower crop drops one torchflower. Unlike the other tall flowers, it is not possible to duplicate torchflowers by applying Minecraft:bone meal on them.
Breaking
A torchflower can be broken instantly with any item or by hand, dropping itself.
A torchflower also breaks if Minecraft:water or Minecraft:lava runs over its location, if a Minecraft:piston extends or pushes a block into its location, or if a block under the plant is moved or destroyed.
Mob loot
Template:IN, Minecraft:endermen can pick up torchflowers, like any other one block tall flower, and Minecraft:drop it if killed while holding it.
Usage
Like most flowers, torchflowers can be used as decoration and planted on Minecraft:grass blocks, Minecraft:dirt, Minecraft:coarse dirt, Minecraft:rooted dirt, Minecraft:farmland, Minecraft:podzol, Minecraft:mycelium, Minecraft:moss blocks, Minecraft:mud, or Minecraft:muddy mangrove roots.
Torchflowers can also be placed in Minecraft:flower pots.
Crafting ingredient
Suspicious stew
Suspicious stew that is created using a torchflower imparts the Minecraft:Night Vision effect for 5 seconds. It can be crafted using a torchflower or produced by feeding a torchflower to a brown Minecraft:mooshroom and then milking it with a Minecraft:bowl.
Bees
Minecraft:Bees engage in a pollinating behavior with torchflowers, increasing the honey level in Minecraft:beehives and Minecraft:bee nests by 1.
Breeding
Torchflowers can be used to breed, grow, and lead Minecraft:bees.
Bee nests
Minecraft:Oak, Minecraft:birch, and Minecraft:cherry trees grown from Minecraft:saplings that are within 2 blocks of a torchflower have a 5% chance to grow with a Minecraft:bee nest and 2-3 Minecraft:bees in it.
Composting
Placing a torchflower into a Minecraft:composter has an 85% chance of raising the compost level by 1.
