Template:Infobox effect Water Breathing is a Minecraft:status effect that allows to breathe underwater. Template:IN, it additionally allows water-breathing Minecraft:mobs to breathe outside of water and grants immunity from Minecraft:suffocation damage.

Template:EffectLink also gives the player a similar effect to Water Breathing (among other things).
Effect
The Water Breathing effect causes the oxygen supply of air-breathing entities to be replenished while underwater instead of being depleted. Template:IN, this also works for mobs that can only breathe water (Minecraft:squid, Minecraft:glow squid, Minecraft:salmon, Minecraft:cod, Minecraft:pufferfish, Minecraft:tropical fish, Minecraft:nautilus, and Minecraft:tadpoles) when they are outside of water.
Minecraft:Waterlogged Minecraft:bedsTemplate:Only can be slept on only by entities with the Water Breathing effect.
Template:IN, players and mobs that are inside of suffocating blocks do not take suffocation damage if they have the Water Breathing effect active.
Immune mobs
- Minecraft:Withers and Minecraft:ender dragons are immune to Water Breathing.
- Aquatic mobs (except for the Minecraft:dolphin) are unaffected by Water BreathingTemplate:Only and all Minecraft:undead mobs (except Minecraft:husks and Minecraft:zombies thus they convert into Minecraft:zombies and Minecraft:drowned) are unaffected by Water Breathing.
Notes
Minecraft:Helmets with the Minecraft:Respiration enchantment slow down oxygen depletion, granting on average an extra 16 seconds of time per level before starting to take Minecraft:drowning damage. However, they do not replenish the oxygen supply, unlike the Water Breathing effect.
