Contested Zones are a game mechanic in Star Citizen introduced in Alpha 4.0<ref name="A40DP">Template:Cite RSI</ref>. They are free-fire PvPvE areas where players can find unique loot and rewards<ref name="A40DP" /><ref name="JP1206>Template:Cite Jump Point</ref>.
The main contested zones are located on three space stations in the StarCitizen:Pyro system, and are the sources of Boards 1 through 7:
- Checkmate
- StarCitizen:Orbituary
- StarCitizen:Ruin Station (the Ghost Arena)
Two other contested zones act as a source for red keycards, which are required to bypass the red locked doors in the main contested zones:
