Runecrafting is one of the eleven Skills in Runescape: Dragonwilds and allows players to create their own Dragonwilds:Runes for use in casting combat Dragonwilds:Magic and other Dragonwilds:Spells.
Players earn Runecrafting experience by imbuing Rune Essences into runes at Rune Altars. These essences can be mined from Rune Essence Geysers or fallen Rune Essence Rocks, which will also award experience in Runecrafting, or by collecting them from Packs.
Boosts
Players can consume Dragonwilds:Potions, eat Dragonwilds:Food, or equip Dragonwilds:Trinkets to boost their Runecrafting experience gain rate.

Training Methods
From 0.11 onward, Runecrafting can be trained in other ways. Aside from direct imbuing in the altar (or auto crafting), players can attempt to attune rune essence to specific anima types (like Air, Water, Law, etc) or siphon directly from Anima Vents.
Direct Imbuing
This is the default and quickest way to acquire runes through the Rune Altar. It is similar to Low frequency attuning in where you'll only get 5 runes per essence unless you have the relevant skill level for high outputs (ex: 23 for Air Runes) then you'll get 10 runes per essence.
Runic Attunement
Aside from direct imbuing, players can create specific rune types (Air, Water, Fire, Law, etc) through the Rune Altar by runic attunement. Depending on the intensity setting (Low to High), you can craft a certain amount of runes with additional runes based on how well you mend the cracks within the essence.
| Intensity | Output Rate |
|---|---|
| Low | 33% |
| Moderate | 66% |
| High | 100% |
Attuning through the Rune Altar gives you the highest runecrafting experience in the entire game while direct crafting and siphoning vents give roughly 25% of the base experience per rune.
Anima Vent Siphoning
Another way to train runecrafting is by siphoning Dragonwilds:Anima Vents found throughout the continent.
Siphoning these vents do not require the relevant Runecrafting level to create the runes directly (ex: you can siphon Law runes from Law anima vents while being under level 50), but still require some rune essence to create runes of the relevant type. Depending on the strength of the vent (either the normal or concentrated), players can acquire either 100 runes or 300 runes of the relevant type. As these vents produce similar outputs per essence as High frequency attuning, players can expect to acquire 10 runes per essence.
Level up table
See Dragonwilds:experience for a table of the experience required to reach each level.
Leveling up Runecrafting grants access to unique passive benefits, in addition to unlocking Dragonwilds:Spells and other abilities.

Trivia
- In Template:OSL, the skill is named "Runecraft", without the "-ing", although in Template:RSL it is also named "Runecrafting".
- Unlike the counterparts in Template:OSL and Template:RSL, the Dragonwilds:Runecrafting Guild in Runescape: Dragonwilds lays in ruins and serves no purpose related to the Runecrafting skill.
