Template:Infobox item A netherite upgrade is a type of smithing template used in smithing tables to upgrade Minecraft:armor and Minecraft:tools from diamond to netherite. It is consumed when used, but can be duplicated using an existing template, Minecraft:netherrack, and Minecraft:diamonds.

Obtaining

This item is found in bastion remnants. Once obtained, it can be duplicated with Minecraft:diamonds and Minecraft:netherrack.

Usage

It is an ingredient in its own recipe, making it simple to craft more after the initial item is found.

Smithing ingredient

While upgrading, the newly crafted netherite gear retains the enchantments, prior work penalty, trim and number of durability points lost (instead of the remaining durability) from the Minecraft:diamond gear.

Unlike Minecraft:anvils, using a smithing table to upgrade diamond gear to netherite gear costs no experience and does not increase the prior work penalty.
