The Nightingale was the bane of the nobility, and they became obsessed with her destruction. Not just her capture, they needed her obliterated – gone from the memories of the population forever. But this was a tricky task indeed, because the wealth the Nightingale harvested, was given back to the people of Bramblemead, rather than lining her own coffers, making her a local hero.
So they hired Moragrin the hunter to track her down. Moragrin was a cruel and merciless assassin, trained in multiple weapon techniques. She delighted in little more than seeing the look in her victims eyes the moment they transition from living to dead.
For days she followed stories of Nightingale, wandering through the village, adopting multiple disguises that she might uncover Nightingale’s real name. In all that time she learned only one thing, that the villagers loved Nightingale and would never knowingly give her up.
