Apples are Minecraft:food items that can be eaten by the Minecraft:player or crafted into Minecraft:golden apples.

Oak and dark oak Minecraft:leaves have 0.5% (Template:Frac) chance of dropping an apple when decayed or broken, but not if burned. Breaking leaves with a Minecraft:tool enchanted with the Minecraft:Fortune enchantment increases the chances of dropping an apple: 0.556% (Template:Frac) with Fortune I, 0.625% (Template:Frac) with Fortune II, and 0.833% (Template:Frac) with Fortune III.

To eat an apple, press and hold Template:Control while it is selected in the hotbar. Eating one restores Template:Hunger Minecraft:hunger and 2.4 saturation.

Apples can be used to heal, grow, and increase temper of Minecraft:horses, Minecraft:donkeys, and Minecraft:mules. Template:IN, due to a bug, Minecraft:skeleton horses (in their hostile state; being ridden by Minecraft:skeletons) can also be fed apples.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
