The gravelly mountains+ or extreme hills plus trees mutated (also referred to as modified gravelly mountains in codeTemplate:Only) was a rare variant of the mountains that no longer generates since Minecraft:Caves & Cliffs: Part II, and was removed in Java Edition.
Description
Like other mountain biomes, the gravelly mountains+ featured a mountainous terrain, often passing the minimum Minecraft:snow height, with steep cliffs and floating islands. Like the regular Minecraft:gravelly mountains, the floor was mostly covered with Minecraft:gravel, with occasional blobs of Minecraft:grass blocks and Minecraft:stone. Oak and spruce Minecraft:trees rarely generated on the grass blocks. Minecraft:Emerald ore and Minecraft:infested stone sometimes replaced stone in this biome.
Template:IN, the gravelly mountains+ had the exact same terrain and vegetation as the regular gravelly mountains<ref>Template:Bug</ref>.
Template:IN, the regular gravelly mountains did not generate trees, making this biome unique. Unlike in Java Edition, gravel covered almost the entire biome, with only a few one-block wide stripes of grass blocks crossing the area. This also made trees much rarer.
Gravelly mountains+ generated within mountain biomes roughly the same way as regular gravelly mountains did, but they also generated when a Minecraft:wooded mountains that generated between a Minecraft:desert and a Minecraft:snowy plains became modified. Usually, the desert and snowy plains became modified too and were replaced with Minecraft:desert lakes and Minecraft:ice spikes.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, unlike gravelly mountains, gravelly mountains+ use a coolish humid volumetric fog setting, which slightly fades the distance in an orange tint. Gravelly mountains+ have coolish color grading tints the environment with a colder blue color, and cold sunlight which appears slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
