Minecraft:Gravelly Mountains+
More actions
Template:Unobtainable Template:Removed feature Template:Infobox biome The gravelly mountains+ or extreme hills plus trees mutated (also referred to as modified gravelly mountains internally Template:In) is a rare variant of the mountains that no longer generates since Minecraft:Caves & Cliffs: Part II, and was removed in Java Edition.
Description
Old
Like other mountain biomes, the gravelly mountains+ featured a mountainous terrain, often passing the minimum Minecraft:snow height at Y=90±8, with steep cliffs and floating islands. Like the regular Minecraft:gravelly mountains, the floor was mostly covered with Minecraft:gravel, with occasional blobs of Minecraft:grass blocks and Minecraft:stone Template:In, or one-block strips of grass blocks Template:In. Oak and spruce Minecraft:trees rarely generated on the grass blocks. Minecraft:Emerald ore and Minecraft:infested stone sometimes replaced stone in this biome.
Template:IN, the gravelly mountains+ had the exact same terrain and vegetation as the regular gravelly mountains.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
Template:IN, the regular gravelly mountains did not generate trees, making this biome unique. Even though it contained fewer grass blocks than in Java Edition, trees were more common due to them generating at the same rate as in Minecraft:wooded mountains.
Gravelly mountains+ generated within mountain biomes roughly the same way as regular gravelly mountains did, but they also generated when a Minecraft:wooded mountains that generated between a Minecraft:desert and a Minecraft:snowy plains became modified. Usually, the desert and snowy plains became modified too and were replaced with Minecraft:desert lakes and Minecraft:ice spikes.
Current
Template:IN, gravelly mountains+ in older worlds still received updates. When generated through Minecraft:single biome or Minecraft:behavior packs, they can also generate new blocks.
They appear similar to the old gravelly mountains+ with the addition of Minecraft:bushes. Minecraft:Animals spawned here use their cold variants. Snowfall is raised to Y=120±8, melting most snow in older worlds.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, unlike gravelly mountains, gravelly mountains+ use a coolish humid volumetric fog setting, which slightly fades the distance in an orange tint. Gravelly mountains+ have coolish color grading tints the environment with a colder blue color, and cold sunlight which appears slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
Mobs
Gravelly mountains+ have the same mob spawning chances as windswept hills.
