Farming is one of the eleven Dragonwilds:Skills in Runescape: Dragonwilds and allows players to grow various plants. The skill was released as part of the 0.10 Dragonwilds:Fellhollow update.
To level up this skill, players must weed, sow, fertilize, water, cure, and harvest crops.
To begin, players must complete Dragonwilds:Growing Pains by talking to the Dragonwilds:Wise Old Man in Dragonwilds:Bramblemead Valley. Once the Quest is completed, players can create Dragonwilds:Farming Plots to get started with Farming.
Items
Seeds
Dragonwilds:Seeds can be collected from picking wild plants, looting Dragonwilds:Chests and Dragonwilds:Packs, or harvesting grown plants. Players can then equip Dragonwilds:Seeds and, when used, will sow plants in Dragonwilds:Farming Plots or the ground. Planting Trees requires Dragonwilds:Tree Farming unlocked at level 20.
Dragonwilds:Redberry Bushes, Dragonwilds:Dwellberry Bushes, Dragonwilds:Cadavaberry Bushes, Dragonwilds:Ash Trees, Dragonwilds:Oak Trees, and Dragonwilds:Willow Trees can be harvested without having to replant seeds.
Tools
Through completing Dragonwilds:Quests and levelling Farming, players unlock crafting recipes for tools that help while Farming.
Constructs
Through levelling Farming, players unlock building recipes for various constructs that assist with Farming.
Farming plots
Most seeds need to be used on a Dragonwilds:Farming plot to grow, with tree seeds being the only exception, and can be grown on the ground. If players plant the seed that matches the preferred Farming Plot, the plant will grow better.Template:Fact

Water collection
Some constructs allow players to passively generate Dragonwilds:Clean Water to help water-growing plants.

Mechanics
Growth cycles
Seeds take in-game time to grow and have several growth stages with distinct visual graphics. Players can speed up this time by matching the seed type with its preferred plot, fertilising, and watering. While growing, plants can become diseased, which stunts growth. If left untreated, plants will eventually die. Harvestable crops will not become diseased, and can be left when no longer farming.
Weeding
When Dragonwilds:Farming Plots are first placed however, they will have a layer of weeds. As long as nothing is planted in the plot, layers of weeds will continue to build up once each day, up to 3 layers per plot. These will need to be removed with a shovel before anything can be planted. Each layer will provide a base 3 XP and 3 Dragonwilds:Weeds. Higher power level shovels can do so in fewer actions.
Seeding
Players must equip Dragonwilds:Seeds to then use them, which will seed Dragonwilds:farming plots or the ground, depending on the seed used. This provides a base 5 XP per seed planted, regardless of type or plot.
Fertilising
Fertilising plots helps prevent disease and increase yield. A plot only needs to be fertilized once during its cycle until it is fully harvested and cleared. Players can convert organic materials into Dragonwilds:compost at a Dragonwilds:compost bin or Dragonwilds:Super Compost at a Dragonwilds:Super Compost Bin, and then collect and spread the fertiliser with a Dragonwilds:compost bucket on plots.
As there are not currently any higher power level Dragonwilds:Compost Buckets, it is recommended to craft and carry several at once to minimise how frequently you need to return to the Dragonwilds:Compost Bins while composting Dragonwilds:Farming Plots. Dragonwilds:Compost provides a base 10 XP per plot, while Dragonwilds:Super Compost provides a base 50 XP.
- Dragonwilds:Compost - Offers 50% decrease in Dragonwilds:Disease rate and x1.5 increase in yield
- Dragonwilds:Super Compost - Offers 75% decrease in Dragonwilds:Disease rate and x1.75 increase in yield
Watering
Watering Farming plots allows plants to grow faster and can be done once per day. Players can use Dragonwilds:Watering Cans on natural water sources (e.g., ponds and rivers) to fill the can with Dragonwilds:Dirty Water, then use it on growing plants, but Dragonwilds:Clean Water helps them to grow faster. Note, however, that the items with the same name gathered by hand and then cooked at a Dragonwilds:Campfire or Dragonwilds:Grill cannot be used to fill a Dragonwilds:Watering Can.
Instead, Dragonwilds:Wells or Dragonwilds:Rain Catchers will passively collect Clean Water, which can be siphoned using the Watering Can to then water plots. Alternatively, players can cast Dragonwilds:Humidify with their watering can in their inventory, which will use whichever water is inside to water the plots in a straight line in front of the player.
Watering a plot with a plant that was just seeded, is harvestable, diseased, or dead will provide a small base 2 XP, however watering growing plants in an Dragonwilds:Ash Farming Plot provides base 15 XP, an Dragonwilds:Oak Farming Plot provides base 30 XP, and a Dragonwilds:Willow Farming Plot provides base 45 XP.
Tip: Rainy weather will automatically water plots, so wait until the end of the day to water if you want to avoid wasting clean water. Note that this process does provide a decent amount of experience though, and rain will not cure any diseased plots like the upgraded Humidify will do.
Curing
Disease will affect plants with a base 40% chance at each growth stage. The plot will change graphically with a brownish-yellow haze, and read "Diseased" when hovering over the plot. Players must cure the plant to prevent it from dying if left diseased for too long. There are currently only two ways of cleansing diseased plants:
- Dragonwilds:Plant Cure
- Dragonwilds:Humidify with the Dragonwilds:Cleansing Rain passive unlocked after level 50
If the plant is cleansed, it will return to its current growth stage. This means that if a plant is diseased in its final growth stage but the player cures it the same day, the player can harvest it without waiting another day. Curing a plant provides a base 3 XP.
Harvesting
Three things affect the yield when harvesting:
- Growing a plant in its preferred plot.Template:Fact
- Fertilising with Dragonwilds:compost (x1.5 yield) or Dragonwilds:super compost (x1.75 yield).
- Harvesting with the Dragonwilds:iron secateurs (x1.25 yield), unlocked at level 42 Farming.
With maximal buffs, players can expect to receive 9 Flax or Corpse Cotton, or 15 of every other plant, per harvest.
The Dragonwilds:Uproot spell (and its upgraded version Dragonwilds:Harvester) can be used to harvest crops in a (larger) radius, but it does not work with the iron secateurs, and so may result in a lower yield. Plants of a similar power level and type will provide the same amount of XP when harvested, listed below:
