v0.9.0 alpha build 5 is the fifth build version released for v0.9.0.

Loading textures in the background to avoid hiccups at runtime.
Minecraft:Tall grass is not flammable anymore.
Added a recipe for Minecraft:emeralds.
Compiled LevelDB with more optimizations.
Somewhat faster Minecraft:torch placing.
Improved (again) block breaking Minecraft:particles.
Optimized rendering of Minecraft:particles.
Flat worlds can now be customized by editing the options.txt file.<ref>Template:Tweet</ref>

9 bugs fixed

Fixed multiplayer.
Fixed a crash in explosion.
The sky doesn't become dark anymore when swimming/exploring shallow caves.
Fixed Minecraft:water not creating Minecraft:obsidian when generated with the world.
Fixed incorrect light updates.
Fixed Minecraft:TNT not rebuilding graphics.
Fixed Minecraft:TNT not exploding other Minecraft:TNT.
Can now spawn Minecraft:spruce trees from Minecraft:spruce sapling.
Fixed black faces on Minecraft:fences, Minecraft:doors and Minecraft:trapdoors next to Minecraft:walls.
