The term Monster refers to a category of Minecraft:mobs that are mostly hostile to the player.
Common properties
Mobs mentioned on this page share the following properties to be classified as monsters:
- They are either classified as enemies in the entity format or in spawning mechanics, such as the mob cap.
Although this doesn't affect their classification, most of them share the following properties, but with exceptions:
- They despawn or don't spawn naturally in Peaceful difficulty.
- Prevent the player from sleeping.
- Drop more than 1-3 experience orbs.
- Use the "Hostile Mobs" sound category.
- Trigger the "Monster Hunter" advancement and "Monsters Hunted" challenge.Template:Only
- Trigger the "Monster Hunter" Minecraft:achievement.Template:Only
- Iron golems and snow golems will target them.
- Parrots will imitate their sounds.
- An active Minecraft:conduit will damage them.
