Blue dragons are not native to Dowdun Reach, because blue dragons are not native anywhere. They are creations of the dragonkin, and this particular strain is Lacrussa's work. Lacrussa did not consider them failures, but she did not consider them successes, either. They were stepping stones: and, as such, she let them rest on Dowdun Reach.

Avisk initially had no use for them. His focus was on lower species, humans and the like. He saw room within human minds to crawl and make them his own. Their consciousness was a hall of prisms, and he could turn them all so that they focused on him. The human mind reflected back his narcissism. To Avisk, the blue dragons were nuisances, liable to kill his test subjects while he was distracted. He penned them and forgot about them, cursing Lacrussa for letting them stray into his domain. Their number grew, but Avisk tutted and continued his work.
