Minecraft:Golden Shovel

A golden shovel is a variant of Minecraft:shovel that is crafted from gold ingots. It is used to break Minecraft:dirt, Minecraft:sand, Minecraft:gravel and other related blocks faster, to create dirt paths from dirt-related blocks, and to extinguish Minecraft:campfires. It is the sixth-highest tier of shovel, having the lowest durability, and having the lowest attack damage alongside wooden shovels, despite having the highest mining efficiency. It can be admired by piglins, and has the highest enchantability.

Digging

A golden shovel can be used to break dirt and soil-type materials faster. When breaking a block, it uses 1 durability. For blocks that break instantly, it uses 0 durability.

Dirt paths

A golden shovel can be used to create a dirt path by Template:Control (not digging) the shovel on any one of the following blocks, losing one durability point:

Campfire

A golden shovel can be used to extinguish a Minecraft:campfire.

Weapon

Golden shovels take 2 damage when used as a weapon.

Golden shovels have an attack speed modifier of -3, meaning they take 1 second to recover. Golden shovels deal Template:Hp damage.

Template:BE

Golden shovels always attack instantly and do Template:Hp damage.

Repairing

Unit repair

A golden shovel can be repaired in an Minecraft:anvil by adding gold ingots, with each ingot restoring 25% of the shovel's maximum durability, rounded down. Two golden shovels can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods preserve the shovel's enchantments.

Piglins

Template:EntityLink are attracted to golden shovels and run toward any golden shovels on the ground, and inspect it for 6 to 8 seconds before putting it in their inventory.
