Template:External width=70x70 This page details the optimal training methods for leveling up Dragonwilds:Mining. Unlike its predecessors, Dragonwilds does not require specific Mining levels to equip Dragonwilds:pickaxes or mine ores.

width=60x60 Personal chest Offers weightless storage for up to 1,980 ores and stones, massively increasing the duration of training trips.
width=60x60 Dragonwilds:Magical Mending Very useful spell allowing the player to repair their pickaxes anywhere without a Blacksmith's bench.
width=60x60 Dragonwilds:Rocksplosion Conjure a powerful blast to break apart stone boulders and ore.

Miscellaneous

width=60x60 Dragonwilds:Lodestone Can be built then used with Law Runes for fast travelling. Allows fast travel between ore nodes.

Tips

  • XP Per Swing: Mining experience is granted per successful pickaxe swing rather than upon completely depleting a node or receiving an ore.
  • Damage: Due to the unique mechanics of Dragonwilds, each ore from a node possesses a health pool, meaning that higher damage directly reduces the time required to deplete a node.
  • Respawning: Most ores respawn after 3 in-game days.
  • Perks: Food perks do NOT stack. Eating another food after consuming a different one overrides its perk(s) with the most recent food eaten. Potions behave like this as well; drinking a new potion will immediately overwrite your active potion buff. While players cannot layer multiple foods or multiple potions, potion and food perks can be stacked together simultaneously.
  • Mining is arguably the fastest and most straightforward skill in Dragonwilds right now, driven by good experience rates per action and the massive demand for resources required to upgrade gear and construct buildings. Solo players can easily reach a high Mining level naturally over the course of a standard playthrough.

Resources

Low-experience or highly hazardous mining locations, such as Blurite, Gold and Silver (more testing needed), have been omitted, as the risk to player safety outweighs the training efficiency.

Miscellaneous stones such as stone boulders and Dragonwilds:sandstone are also omitted here for training purposes, due to their low experience yields and/or sparse distribution.

Strategy

  • Players should always aim to use their best available pickaxe, food, potion and jewelry.
  • Due to the unique mechanics of Dragonwilds, the Unholy Symbol might be preferred over the Inspiring Ring of Mining when not using the Rocksplosion spell (more testing needed).
  • While actively training Mining, players should cast Rocksplosion everytime it refreshes to rapidly clear nodes. Although the spell applies a slight experience penalty per action, the sheer volume and speed of cleared ores make it incredibly efficient.
  • The Rocksplosion spell gets an upgrade at level 69, called Dragonwilds:Ultimate Burst, which increases its area of effect considerably.
  • Dragonwilds:Divine Rock spell: Although it is a very useful spell in normal gameplay to gather ores quickly, it massively reduces the XP from mining.
  • While not primary targets, Gypsum nodes could be integrated into a player's adamantite mining routes due to their somewhat high experience yields and close proximity to some of the core adamantite deposits.

Methods

mapping areas, using lodestones, casting rocksplosion, using personal chest for longer trips, reapplying buffs
