Minecraft:Netherite Sword

Template:Confuse Template:For Template:Infobox item A netherite sword is a late-game variant of Minecraft:sword obtained by upgrading a diamond sword using a netherite ingot and netherite upgrade at a smithing table. It is the highest tier of sword, dealing more damage than a diamond sword and having higher durability.

Like other diamond items, a diamond sword can be upgraded to a netherite sword, increasing its durability and attack damage, as well as granting resistance to fire and lava when dropped as an item. Template:Smithing

Usage

Breaking

Template:Main A sword can also be used to destroy certain blocks 50% quicker, sometimes much quicker than with fists. Using a sword to destroy any block that doesn't break instantly by hand decreases its durability by 2; this includes Minecraft:bamboo, despite that the sword is the fastest tool for breaking it.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>

If a sword is enchanted with Minecraft:Silk Touch, either using Creative or Minecraft:commands, Minecraft:cobwebs hit by the sword drop the cobwebs themselves instead of the usual Minecraft:string, because a sword is classified as the proper tool for cobwebs.

Creative mode

In Creative mode, swords are unable to break blocks. However, they can still break placed entities such as Minecraft:minecarts, Minecraft:paintings, item frames,Template:Only and armor stands.<ref>Template:Bug</ref><ref>Template:Bug</ref>

Attacking

A netherite sword is used to deal damage to mobs and entities by Template:Control them. The netherite sword has Template:Hp base damage Template:In and Template:Hp base damage Template:In, and can be enchanted to deal more damage. The following tables show how the Sharpness enchantment affects the damage dealt by the sword.

Repairing

Anvil repair

A netherite sword can be repaired in an Minecraft:anvil by adding netherite ingots with each ingot restoring 25% the sword's maximum durability, rounded down. Two netherite swords can also be combined in an anvil. Both methods preserve the netherite sword's enchantments.
