""At first I assumed she used alchemy, but no: my detection runes would have alerted me to that. After interrogation, the truth is even more embarrassing: she used a primitive science called 'Mycology.' I have transcribed her method below, and will study it more carefully when time permits."
— ProjectGorgon:Elmetaph, "ProjectGorgon:Proctor's Journals"
Mycology Overview
ProjectGorgon:Mycology is a skill that is raised by gathering mushrooms. It gives access to a variety of recipes for the creation of Spore Bombs, poisons, and potions. Mushrooms are also useful in ProjectGorgon:Cooking and ProjectGorgon:Alchemy recipes.
Mycology is usually acquired early on around ProjectGorgon:Anagoge Island by gathering a patch of Parasol Mushrooms. The skill continues to raise afterwards as you gather various kinds of mushrooms. New players will likely encounter higher tiers of Mushrooms first in the town of Serbule. There are a few patches around the barn which will require higher skill level.

Training Mycology
- ProjectGorgon:Mycology is often first learned on ProjectGorgon:Anagoge or in ProjectGorgon:Serbule by picking mushrooms or piles of dirt off of the ground. The first recipe, ProjectGorgon:Parasol Mushroom Flakes, is learned by studying an Alchemy book ProjectGorgon:Basics of Alchemy. The book may be found on ProjectGorgon:Elmetaph's bookcase in the lighthouse, or on the second level of the ProjectGorgon:Anagoge Records Facility.
- Another ProjectGorgon:Mycology recipe is also found in the ProjectGorgon:Anagoge Records Facility, on the first level. On a pedestal in a room containing several mushrooms, rest the ProjectGorgon:Proctor's Journals. If the player chooses to Study the Details they can learn the recipe for ProjectGorgon:Basic Spore Bombs.
- ProjectGorgon:Mushroom Jack and ProjectGorgon:Charles Thompson both sell ProjectGorgon:Mycology recipes and abilities from their homes in ProjectGorgon:Serbule.
- ProjectGorgon:Voo and ProjectGorgon:Jaw in the ProjectGorgon:Myconian Cave sell ProjectGorgon:Mycology recipes and abilities.

- ProjectGorgon:Hemmit Magmagrip, a traveling mycologist studying in the ProjectGorgon:New Prestonbule Cave, unlocks levels 51-60 and 61-70 of ProjectGorgon:Mycology.
- ProjectGorgon:Backfat in the ProjectGorgon:Fae Realm can sniff out levels 71-80.
- Levels 81-90 are unlocked by ProjectGorgon:Dunahain Broadarm deep beneath ProjectGorgon:Povus or ProjectGorgon:Strom Farblood in Statehelm.
- Levels 91-100 are unlocked by ProjectGorgon:Strom Farblood.
