Template:External width=70x70This page details the optimal training methods for leveling up Dragonwilds:Woodcutting. Unlike its predecessors, Dragonwilds does not require specific Woodcutting levels to equip axes or chop trees.

Tips
- Damage: Due to the unique mechanics of Dragonwilds, the Unholy Symbol is consistently preferred over the Inspiring Ring of Woodcutting. Because higher damage output directly reduces chopping time, it results in significantly better experience rates per any given timeframe. If the player does not have access to the Dragonwilds:Unholy Symbol, they should use the Inspiring Ring instead.
- Avoid Stumps: Players should avoid chopping the remaining tree stump after felling a tree, as doing so can prevent the tree from respawning.
- XP Per Swing: Experience is awarded for every individual axe swing, whether the tree is standing, fallen, or reduced to a stump, rather than upon successfully gathering logs.
- Respawning: Trees respawn after 3 in-game days.
- Perks: Food perks do NOT stack. Eating another food after consuming a different one overrides its perk(s) with the most recent food eaten. Potions behave like this as well; drinking a new potion will immediately overwrite your active potion buff. While players cannot layer multiple foods or multiple potions, potion and food perks can be stacked together simultaneously.
- Dragonwilds:Splinter spell: Although it is a very useful spell in normal gameplay to gather logs quickly, it reduces the XP from chopping a tree considerably.
Trees
Trees grant experience for every axe swing, whether it is standing, fallen, or reduced to a stump.
Trees with very minimal experience gains such as Dragonwilds:blightwood and cacti are not mentionned here for training reasons.

Methods
Fundamentals: Players should always aim to use their best available logging axe, food, potion and jewelry. The Dragonwilds:Lumber Backpack is a notable unlock once level 78 Woodcutting is achieved and should always be worn afterwards.
Note that higher-tier trees do not always yield better experience rates over a given timeframe, as some of them are highly sparse, located in dangerous areas, or both. While following the tree progression of your unlocked regions is generally a good approach, certain trees may not be worth the effort. For example, willow trees offer excellent base experience per swing, but they typically spawn in small groups and are located dangerously close to hostile enemies, reducing their overall viability for sustained training.
Ash and Oak chopping: Because Ash and Oak trees have the lowest HP of all tree types, they remain a highly competitive source of experience over any given timeframe. This is especially true when backtracking to them using significantly higher-tier axes than the ones minimally required, as the massive damage output allows players to shred through them instantly for rapid, consistent experience. Furthermore, they are incredibly accessible as they are located pretty much everywhere across Dragonwilds:Ashenfall, with some exceptions.
Willow chopping: Although Willow trees are primarily located in dangerous areas, well-geared players can still effectively utilize them for training. Willows can be found all over the Fellhollow region, specifically clustered around the various ponds. Building lodestones in high-density Willow areas is highly recommended, as it allows players to quickly teleport from one cluster to another, bypassing dangerous terrain and minimizing downtime. Just like with earlier tiers, chopping Willows becomes significantly faster and yields much better experience per any given timeframe once better axes are obtained. Players need to keep in mind that they're very likely to get attacked by Nature Spirits, Zombies and Skeletons while training on willow trees.
Maple chopping: Maple trees become a viable source of experience once the Dragonwilds:Dowdun Reach region is unlocked and the player has acquired a Dragonwilds:Mithril Logging Axe. Similar to Willow trees, chopping Maple trees becomes significantly faster and yields better experience after unlocking the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands region, which allows players to upgrade to an Dragonwilds:Adamant Logging Axe. Maples are preferred for training because a large concentration of them can be found in the Courtyard; this specific area features very few hostile enemies, though players should still watch out for stray Chinchompas wandering into the area!
Yew chopping: Yew trees become available once the Umbral Sands region is unlocked. As of right now, Yews represent the highest tier of tree available in the game, aligning with the Adamant Logging Axe. While training on Yews is not the fastest method for raw experience, it remains viable, especially for players looking for variety in their training. Large clusters of Yews can be found scattered all across the desert area. When training here, players must manage the Scorching Heat mechanic and seek out shadow when necessary. Additionally, combat readiness varies by spot: while some Yew clusters are located dangerously close to hostile enemies, others offer more peaceful chopping zones.
Tree Planting Method: This method consists of planting two or more rows of trees (roughly 20 trees in total) and casting Dragonwilds:Axtral Projection to fell all of them simultaneously. Because the fallen trunks stack up on top of one another, players can efficiently split multiple trees into logs all at once. This strategy requires a significant amount of upfront preparation, as players must gather a large stockpile of tree seeds before starting, but it can result in a quick and massive experience gain if done right. This cycle can be repeated as many times as desired if multiple rows are prepared in advance, keeping in mind that trees take three days to fully respawn. This strategy can be performed alternately with other active training methods.
