This guide is a simplified overview of all the changes in the Minecraft:Better Together Update (Template:BE 1.2.x releases), which assumes at least some familiarity with the Minecraft:Discovery Update (Bedrock Edition 1.1.x releases).

Passive creatures can be tamed using seeds. Has the ability to fly and occasionally rest on the ground. If there is music playing from a Minecraft:record player nearby, they will dance accordingly. Will dance even if they are on the player's shoulders. They will die after eating a Minecraft:cookie.

Changed

All Minecraft:mobs		Now avoids cactus, fire and lava. Adjusted the color it flashes when attacked. Increased stride stability when moving up stairs while riding certain creatures.
Minecraft:Mooshroom	File:Red Mooshroom JE2 BE1.png	Now only generates above Minecraft:mycelium.
Minecraft:Witch	File:Witch BE Revision 2.png	A potion of fire resistance will be drunk when standing on top of a Minecraft:magma block. There is now an 8.5% chance of dropping the potion you are taking when killed. Before this, they always dropped potions.
Minecraft:Skeleton, Minecraft:stray and Minecraft:zombie pigman	Template:Animate	Now has a chance to spawn with enchanted tools and weapons.
Minecraft:Ender dragon	File:Ender Dragon.gif	Corresponding particles will now appear when stopping using dragon breath attack.
Minecraft:Sheep	Template:Animate	Shorn sheep no longer drop Minecraft:wool when killed.

Minecraft:Villager	File:Farmer.png	Peasant villagers now sell 5-7 Minecraft:apples for 1 Minecraft:emerald. Observe new offers from villagers more quickly after trading is unlocked.
Minecraft:Horse	File:Black Horse Revision 4.gif	Eating or drinking something while riding a horse no longer slows the player down. Updated appearance. No longer opens its mouth when dropping a player or taking damage.
Minecraft:Donkey	File:Donkey JE4.png	Updated appearance. No longer opens its mouth when dropping a player or taking damage.

Minecraft:Skeleton horse	Template:Animate	Can now be saddled.
Minecraft:Snow golem	Template:Animate	Snow golem's face is now only visible when clipped. Minecraft:Lingering water bottle now deals damage to it.
Minecraft:Ghast	Template:Animate	Minecraft:Ghast fireball activates Minecraft:Nether portal when it hits it.
Minecraft:Blaze and Minecraft:enderman	Template:Animate	Minecraft:Lingering water bottle now deals damage to it.
Minecraft:Cow	File:Cow JE4 BE1.png	Players will no longer drink the milk directly after milking the cow.

Minecraft:Banner	Template:Animate		Can be mined with any tool, but Minecraft:axe is the fastest.	V-shaped and reversed-V shaped magenta flags with black stripes will generate naturally in Minecraft:end city. Can be used for decoration.
Minecraft:Jukebox	File:Jukebox JE1 BE1.png		Can be mined with any tool, but Minecraft:axe is the fastest.	Can be used to play Minecraft:music discs. Can use a funnel to insert records.
Minecraft:Coarse dirt	File:Coarse Dirt JE1 BE1.png		Can be mined using any tool, but Minecraft:shovel is the fastest.	Place Minecraft:saplings, Minecraft:sugar cane and Minecraft:mushrooms directly on the sand to grow under suitable conditions. Minecraft:Grass and Minecraft:mycelium cannot spread to coarse dirt. Use Minecraft:hoe on coarse dirt to turn it into soil.
Minecraft:Structure block	Template:Animate	Can only be obtained via command.	Cannot be destroyed.	Is only available in Minecraft:Windows 10 Edition and has a 3D export mode that cannot be changed.

Minecraft:Brewing stand	Template:Animate	Minecraft:Blaze powder is now required to power brewing stands.
Minecraft:Beacon	File:Beacon JE4 BE1.png	Light beams will now change color when passing through stained glass or stained glass panes. The color of the light beam will only use the color of the highest layer of stained glass and will not be mixed.

Minecraft:Stained glass and Minecraft:stained glass pane	Template:Animate Template:Animate	Now have their own textures and can be obtained through normal means. Changed the inventory icons of Minecraft:glass pane and stained Minecraft:glass pane. Single Minecraft:glass pane or stained Minecraft:glass pane are now columnar.
Minecraft:Observer	File:Observer BE2.png	Updated the texture of Minecraft:observer so that the observer will now flash red when outputting a redstone signal. Now able to detect updates to more blocks. Increased the strength of the redstone pulse output by the observer, and no longer has two pulses when the piston expands and retracts once.

Minecraft:Armor stand	File:Armor Stand (item) JE1 BE1.png		Used to place items and armor that need to be displayed. Can hold items without commands. Several postures can be switched through sneaking and interaction (right click by default). Redstone signals can also change posture.
Minecraft:Book and quill	File:Book and Quill JE1 BE1.png		Used for writing content and can be saved as a book. Two pages can be displayed on the same screen. Has an edit button to modify the text on each page.
Minecraft:Firework star	File:Firework Star JE1 BE1.png		Used to make Minecraft:firework rockets and determine the color, effect and shape of the fireworks rocket.
Minecraft:Firework rockets	File:Firework Rocket JE1 BE1.png		Can be fired in any direction, depending on the orientation of the emitter.
Minecraft:Music disc	Template:Animate	Can be obtained from Minecraft:chests in Minecraft:dungeon or Minecraft:woodland mansion. After Minecraft:creeper is shot by Minecraft:skeleton, it will randomly drop an additional music record.	You can put in Minecraft:record player to play music.

All items		Items can now pass upward through solid blocks, allowing for a 3×3 item lift.
Minecraft:Bucket	File:Bucket JE1 BE1.png	Only one iron barrel can now be placed in the furnace at a time.
Minecraft:Map	File:Map (item) JE1 BE1.png	The player's head will appear on the map. Locator maps now track the owner's location regardless of their dimension. Empty maps can now be combined with a compass in an anvil to create a locator map. Renaming maps and increasing map size in Anvil now only costs experience levels. Maps and locator maps can now be obtained via /give.
Minecraft:Leash	File:Lead JE1 BE1.png	Right click to release the leash. There is now a sound when placing leashes.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Creative mode	Pressing Template:Key in the creative mode inventory will place an item into Minecraft:inventory instead of a group. Pressing Template:Key will drop the entire group; pressing Template:Key will clear the shortcut bar in creative mode.
Minecraft:Inventory	3 new buttons for classic UI: "Inventory only", "Inventory and recipe book" and "Recipe book only". Add a switch to the recipe book to switch to full-screen creative mode Minecraft:inventory.
Spawn	Increased the spawn rate of friendly mobs, making them easier to spot.
