Minecraft:Nether Bricks

Obtaining

Breaking

Nether bricks can be mined using any pickaxe. If mined without a pickaxe, they drop nothing. Template:Breaking row

Natural generation

Nether bricks form the walls and supporting pillars of all Minecraft:Nether fortresses.

Usage

Nether bricks are non-flammable and immune to Minecraft:ghast fireballs, making them a suitable shelter material for the Nether.

If a Nether bricks block is inside the whole bounding box of a Minecraft:Nether fortress (not just inside the individual parts), Nether fortress mobs (such as Minecraft:blazes and Minecraft:wither skeletons) can spawn on it if other normal conditions are met.

Note blocks

Nether bricks can be placed under Minecraft:note blocks to produce "bass drum" sounds.

Sulfur cube

Template:In development Minecraft:Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb Nether bricks, either through picking them up or being interacted with them. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.

History

Trivia

• Nether bricks are the only block type to have both a fence and a wall. It is also the only fence type without a corresponding gate.
