The Guide System refers to a subsection of Spectrum on the StarCitizen:RSI Website that allows players to request help from other players that have enlisted themselves as guides.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Procedure

As mentioned, the Guide System allows players to find help from others. It is essentially a matchmaking service that lets you find help in any of the following proficiencies:

  • Beginner basics
  • Refresher basics
  • Vehicle combat
  • FPS combat
  • Mining
  • Salvaging
  • Missions & reputation
  • Trading
  • Touring
  • Miscellaneous
  • Medical
  • Refueling

Guides can select multiple proficiencies at the same time without limit, guidees can select up to four. Once a guide is listed, he can be found by others in the system, and can then initiate a session with them. Doing this automatically sends a friend request and opens a private message session with the other player.

Endorsement

A successful session depends on several different things:<ref>Spectrum: Guiding FAQ (fan made)</ref>

  • A session has to be at least 30 minutes in length
  • At the end of the session, the guidee has to:
    • Click "Yes" when asked "Did you go in game?"
    • Select at least one proficiency they were helped in
    • Submit the endorsement

Rewards

The Guide System, under normal circumstances, rewards the guide with different StarCitizen:Titles (badges), based on the amount of successful guide sessions they've done. For details, see StarCitizen:Titles#Guide titles.

During special promotions, like StarCitizen:Foundation Festival there are extra rewards for guides and guidees, such as ship paints or in-game clothing.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
