Template:Infobox Scenery Temple Woods is an area in Dragonwilds:Ashenfall. It serves as the starting area for adventurers, and contains the Temple of Dragonwilds:Saradomin.

Description

Temple Woods is situated at the peak of a cliff overlooking the Dragonwilds:Bramblemead Valley. The main structure in this area is the Temple of Dragonwilds:Saradomin, which dates back to the Third Age. The temple's walls and stained glass windows remain intact despite their age. A faint trace of priestly magic keeps more dangerous elements from entering the temple.

Northwest of the temple is a Dragonwilds:windmill. The timber creaks despite its sails no longer turning. At night, creatures patrol around the windmill's exterior.

History

The Temple Woods area was first settled during the Dragonwilds:Third Age by followers of Dragonwilds:Saradomin who arrived on the continent during a time of war that affected much of the world. These settlers established a small settlement at the cliff's peak.

The expedition members eventually integrated with the villagers of Dragonwilds:Bramblemead Village, moving from their camps into the village. As the settlers abandoned their temporary structures, they began construction of the Temple of Dragonwilds:Saradomin.

Now, millennia later, the temple serves as a sanctuary against the wild frontiers of Ashenfall and functions as the home base of the current expedition team.

Journal

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

The temple of Saradomin oversees all of Brynmoor, the stained glass windows once glistened in the sunlight as a beacon to the villagers of Bramblemead, below.

In the Third Age, when the rest of the world was at war, followers of Saradomin arrived on the continent and created a small settlement at the peak of the cliff. Here, the expedition could gaze out over the water, looking back toward the homes they had left, and gazing down towards Bramblemead, the home they would create.

Overtime the expedition mixed with the villagers, leaving their tents and their huts, and finding homes in the village. As the camps were brought down, stones were placed as the foundation of the temple, as the word of Saradomin spread throughout the streets.

Now, millennia later, the temple stands proud, but silent. The walls and windows remain steadfast against the onslaught of time. A faint trace of priestly magic keeps the more monstrous elements from creeping inside. It is a sanctuary against the wild frontiers of Ashenfall, and therefore the home base of the current expedition team.

It is said that the windmill, northwest of the temple, is haunted. The timber creeks ominously even though the sails no longer turn. At night, sinister creatures patrol its exterior, waiting for any opportunity to strike.
