The Garden Awakens is a Minecraft:game drop that was released on December 3, 2024, as Minecraft:Java Edition 1.21.4 and Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 1.21.50. It focuses on the Minecraft:pale garden, a biome that is home to the Minecraft:creaking alongside Minecraft:pale oak trees and pale moss. The first features of this game drop were revealed at Minecraft:Minecraft Live 2024.
In an official and publicly shared survey about Minecraft Live<ref>Template:Cite</ref><ref>Template:Tweet</ref> and in file names on Minecraft:Minecraft.net,<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref><ref>https://www.minecraft.net/content/dam/minecraftnet/games/minecraft/screenshots/mcv_holiday_eyeblossom-resin_testing_header_1280x768.jpg</ref> the drop was referred to as the Vanilla Holiday Update. During development, it was referred to as the Winter Drop, the name of the corresponding Minecraft:experiment Template:In. The final name and release date of the update were revealed on November 27, 2024.<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref>
Experimental features for the drop were released prior to the finalized release as part of Minecraft:Java Edition 1.21.2.

- A non-Minecraft:flammable "living block"<ref name="pale">Template:Citation</ref><ref name="snap">Template:Snap</ref> found most of the natural Minecraft:pale oak trees, covered on all sides by pale oak logs.
- File:Active Creaking Heart JE1 BE1.png Only activates when placed between two pale oak logs in the same orientation and can't be deactivated unless the block is broken.
- Spawns Minecraft:creakings at night when activated and links itself to them.
- Produces Minecraft:resin clump when the creaking gets damaged.
- Spawns Minecraft:creakings at night when activated and links itself to them.
- Drops resin clump and Minecraft:experience when broken without Minecraft:Silk Touch.
- Can also be crafted using two Minecraft:pale oak logs and a Minecraft:block of resin.

- A new Minecraft:flower found in the Minecraft:pale garden biome.
- They exist in two variants: closed and open.
- Eyeblossoms transition between the two variants based on the time of day.
- During the night, eyeblossoms become open.
- Will attract Minecraft:bees, however they get Minecraft:poisoned when fed or pollinate the flower itself.
- During the day, they become closed.
- Cannot attract bees.
- During the night, eyeblossoms become open.
- In dimensions that do not have a day/night cycle, they remain as-is.
- Eyeblossoms transition between the two variants based on the time of day.
- Eyeblossoms planted on the ground communicate with each other, helping each other to open or close.
- Can be use to make Minecraft:suspicious stew which faves it Minecraft:Blindness or Minecraft:Nausea depending on the variant.
- Can be crafted into orange or Minecraft:gray dye depending on the variant.
- Emits Minecraft:ambient sounds when on top of Minecraft:pale moss block.

- A vine-like block generate beneath the Minecraft:pale oak leaves and Minecraft:logs.
- Emits creaking sounds when place to its corresponding block.
- Does not grow naturally.
- Must be grown manually using Minecraft:bonemeal.
- Cannot be climbed.

- Generates in large patches under the pale oak trees.
- Unlike regular moss block, it can be burned.
