12w04a is the second Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.2.1, released on January 26, 2012,<ref>Template:Cite</ref> which adds Minecraft:ocelots, Minecraft:jungle saplings, Minecraft:bottles o' enchanting, and Minecraft:fire charges.

• Mobs have a new AI with new and improved behaviors.
  • Minecraft:Skeletons and Minecraft:zombies burning from sunlight flee to darkness or jump in water.
  • Mobs no longer attempt to jump over Minecraft:wooden fences.

Trivia

• In the Minecraft:title screen, when the language is set to Afrikaans, this snapshot includes a phrase in English calling the user a racial slur in place of the Singleplayer button's text. Minecraft:Mojang lead developer Minecraft:Jens Bergensten acknowledged the problem and explained that it was the result of a prankster abusing the open translation system. The offensive content was removed in the next snapshot, and the responsible user was banned.<ref>Template:Citation</ref>
  • When the language is set to "Ingles (Uruguay)", the "Singleplayer", "Multiplayer" and "Texture Packs" button texts are replaced with the Spanish phrase "Otra razón para odiarte...", which translates to "Another reason to hate you...". It's very likely that this is also a prank, as both the language title and the main menu buttons' contents weren't vandalized in the previous snapshot.
