Dragonwilds:Rest
More actions
Rest is a Dragonwilds:player attribute which determines how well-rested they are. When the player has a lack of rest, they will begin to lose maximum Dragonwilds:stamina, Dragonwilds:hydration, and Dragonwilds:sustenance (and increased dwindle), and carrying capacity. To rest, players can sleep on a player-crafted and owned or Dragonwilds:Summon Shelter bed.
Mechanics
- Sleeping in a bed or using the Summon shelter spell at night will skip to morning and completely refill the rest meter.
- Sleeping cannot be performed during combat or a raid.
- A full night's rest removes all status over time effects, such as Dragonwilds:bleed, Dragonwilds:poison, Dragonwilds:shock, burn, and Dragonwilds:soulscourge.
- The player can rest in a bed or use the summoned shelter during the day to slowly recharge their rest, despite it not skipping to morning.
- This occurs at a rate of 1/s, or 100s from 0-100 rest.
- During this time, if nighttime were to break while the player rests on a bed, a full sleep to day will occur.
- This occurs at a rate of 1/s, or 100s from 0-100 rest.
- Rest status slowly dwindles over time. When equal to or less than 25/100, Rest dwindles at half the rate:
- 26-100: Rest status dwindles at a rate of (1/72)/s, or 1pt/72s
- 0-25: Rest status dwindles at a rate of (1/144)/s, or 1pt/144s
- This means going from 100-25 Rest takes 5,400s (1hr 30m)
- Or, going from 100-0 Rest takes 9,000s (2h 30m).
- Unlike with Dragonwilds:Hydration and Dragonwilds:Sustenance, upon death, rest will be reduced by 15/100, unless the player is already at or below 40/100; in this case, it will be reset to the minimum of 25/100.
- A full day cycle lasts 990s (16m 30s).
- A full night cycle lasts 420s (7m 30s).
Hydration and Sustenance
- After a full night's rest, the player will receive a Dragonwilds:Fresh Start perk (buff) which lasts for 180s (3m), and stops the dwindling of all player attributes (Dragonwilds:Hydration, Dragonwilds:Sustenance, and Rest), which can be seen in the bottom left, as a rising sun next to a bar gauge.
- After a full night's rest, Dragonwilds:Hydration and Dragonwilds:Sustenance are reduced in anticipation for breakfast, if players are not near their claimed bed and have slept in their tent (casted by Dragonwilds:Summon Shelter).
- Dragonwilds:Hydration:
- 65-100: Hydration randomly reduced by up to 40
- 25-65: Hydration reduced randomly by up to 40, to a minimum of 25
- 0-25: Hydration maintained at current value.
- This means to best optimize resources for drinking, a player should rest as close to or below 25/100 Dragonwilds:Hydration as possible.
- Dragonwilds:Sustenance:
- 55-100: Sustenance reduced by up to 30, randomly
- 25-55: Sustenance reduced randomly by up to 30, to the minimum of 25
- 0-25: Sustenance maintained at current value.
- This means to best optimize resources for eating, a player should rest as close to or below 25/100 Dragonwilds:Sustenance as possible.
- Dragonwilds:Hydration:
- With the Dragonwilds:Cosiness perk where players are near their claimed bed, the hydration and sustenance meters are reduced as follows:
- Hydration: Reduced by 2-3, regardless of hydration levels
- Sustenance: Reduced by 2-3, regardless of sustenance levels
Thresholds
| Rest level | Effects |
|---|---|
| 100/100 | Template:NA |
| 75/100 | Template:NA |
| 50/100 Tired | Reduced maximum Dragonwilds:Stamina to 80/100 |
| 25/100 Knackered | Reduced maximum Dragonwilds:Stamina to 60/100
Reduced maximum carrying capacity to 300 (350 with Leggings of Lightness) Reduced maximum Dragonwilds:Sustenance and Dragonwilds:Hydration to 75/100 Dragonwilds:Sustenance and Dragonwilds:Hydration dwindling will increase by a rate of 1s per point |
| 0/100 Exhausted | Reduced maximum Dragonwilds:Stamina to 40/100 |
- Whilst the Journal Entry states that when exhausted, the player will, "...[find] spells more expensive to cast", there is no clear mechanism in which this is the case in the game. Magic staves still cost the same stamina, expend 1 rune per cast, and all spells from the player skill spellbook cost the same number of runes.

25/100: You're tired and your eyelids feel really heavy. You could use a nap.
5/100: You're absolutely knackered and your legs barely want to move. Time for a rest.
0/100: You’re exhausted. You can’t go on like this, get some rest.
