Minecraft:Java Edition 1.19.4 Pre-release 1

1.19.4 Pre-release 1 (known as 1.19.4-pre1 in the launcher) is the first pre-release for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.19.4, released on February 22, 2023,<ref>Template:Mcnet</ref> which fixes bugs. This is the first pre-release released in 2023.

Minecraft:Options

• Added "High Contrast" accessibility option, which enhances the contrast of UI elements.

Minecraft:Realms

• Added a notification system for Realms to notify the player about important information about their Realm.

Minecraft:Resource packs

• Added a built-in "High Contrast" resource pack that enhances the contrast of UI elements.
  • The resource pack can be enabled in the accessibility options screen or manually in the resource pack screen.
  • Only available in the menus in this version.

Minecraft:Tags

• Added following block and item tag:
  • Template:Cd: contains Template:Cd.
    • Items with this tag give Minecraft:glass when smelted in a Minecraft:furnace.
• Added following entity tag:
  • Template:Cd: contains Template:Cd.
    • Entity types with this tag do not take fall damage.
• Added following damage type tags:
  • Template:Cd: contains Template:Cd.
    • Damage types with this tag always hurt the ender dragon.
  • Template:Cd: empty in vanilla.
    • Damage types with this tag bypass the regular invincibility time after taking damage.

Blocks

Minecraft:Froglight

• Sounds when placing or breaking the block are now less loud.

Minecraft:Sculk sensor

• The Template:Cd event now has a vibration frequency of 2 instead of 14.

Items

Minecraft:Potions

• No longer have an enchantment glint due to it obscuring the color of the potion contents.

General

• The enchantment glint for items in the inventory has been made more visible.

Command format

Template:Cmd

• New sub-command Template:Cd, for finding positions on top of a heightmap. Changes the height of the execution position to be on top of the given heightmap. Syntax:
  • Template:Cd
    • Template:Cd: A heightmap records the highest position in a column of blocks according to some criteria. Available options:
      • Template:Cd: Any non-air block.
      • Template:Cd: Any motion blocking material (e.g. ignores flowers and grass).
      • Template:Cd: Any non-leaf motion blocking material.
      • Template:Cd: Any non-fluid motion blocking material.

General

Minecraft:Create New World

• The appearance of the tab bar has been updated.
  • Tabs now have unique visuals instead of being traditional buttons.
  • The tabs now align to the center of the screen.
  • The content has been aligned to the top of the screen.

Minecraft:Options

• The default value of the "Glint Strength" setting has been reduced to 75%.
• The scrolling animation for texts in options buttons which are too large to fit is now slower.

Minecraft:Resource packs

• The resource pack version is now 13.
• The enchantment glint now has two separate texture files: Template:Samp and Template:Samp.

Minecraft:Tags

• Added Template:Cd into the Template:Cd damage type tag.

Experimental

These changes only take effect when the 1.20 experimental data pack is enabled.

Minecraft:Pink petals

• Now mine instantly.

Minecraft:Torchflower

• Can now be used to craft Minecraft:suspicious stew, giving the player Night Vision.
• Can now be used to tempt and breed Minecraft:bees.

Items

Minecraft:Brush

• Crafting recipe now uses a Minecraft:feather, Minecraft:copper ingot and Minecraft:stick in a vertical line.

Minecraft:Spawn Eggs

• Updated the color of Minecraft:sniffer spawn egg, to distinguish it from the Minecraft:salmon spawn egg.

Minecraft:Torchflower seeds

• Can now be used to tempt and breed Minecraft:chickens and Minecraft:parrots.
• Are now next to other seeds in the Creative inventory.

World generation

Minecraft:Cherry grove

• Minecraft:Pigs can now spawn in this biome.
• Minecraft:Donkeys no longer spawn in this biome.

Gameplay

Minecraft:Advancements

• The "A Seedy Place" advancement can be granted by planting Minecraft:torchflower seeds now.
• The "The Parrots and the Bats" advancement can be granted by breeding sniffers now.
• The "Two by Two" advancement now requires breeding a sniffer.

General

Minecraft:Recipe book

• The recipe for the Minecraft:decorated pot made of all Minecraft:bricks can now be found in the recipe book.

• Moved the Template:Cd item tag into the experimental 1.20 data pack.
• Added Template:Cd into the Template:Cd block tag.
