Two players playing together using splitscreen.

Splitscreen is a console-exclusive feature that allows up to four players to play on one screen at the same time. It is supported on console versions of Template:El on local connections and Minecraft:Realms, but not on external servers, including the Minecraft:featured servers.

Gameplay

A second player joining a game in splitscreen.

A player can join a running game in splitscreen by connecting another controller and pressing Template:Xbtn/Template:Nsbtn/Template:Psbtn/Template:Psbtn. The new player is then prompted to select a user profile in which their progress is saved. Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals is disabled on splitscreen and the game will switch to Fancy graphics.

If "Minecraft:Multiplayer Game" is enabled in the world settings of the current world, active Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online, or PlayStation Plus subscriptions for each user profile are required to join the game.
