Two players playing together using splitscreen.

Splitscreen is a console-exclusive feature that allows up to four players to play on one screen at the same time. It is supported on console versions of Template:El on local connections and Minecraft:Realms, but not on external Minecraft:servers, including the Minecraft:featured servers.

Gameplay

A second player joining a game in splitscreen.

A player can join a running game in splitscreen by connecting another Minecraft:controller and pressing Template:Xbtn/Template:Nsbtn/Template:Psbtn/Template:Psbtn. The new player is then prompted to select a user profile in which their progress is saved. Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals is disabled on splitscreen and the game will switch to Fancy graphics.

If "Minecraft:Multiplayer Game" is enabled in the Minecraft:world settings of the current world, active Xbox Game Pass, Nintendo Switch Online, or PlayStation Plus subscriptions for each user profile are required to join the game.
