Minecraft:The City

From SAS Gaming Wiki

Template:ForTemplate:WipTemplate:Infobox location The City is the primary setting of Minecraft: The Outsider. The largest city in the Overworld, it stands as a monument to the evolution of humans, protecting its inhabitants from outside threats such as Minecraft:zombies that had once tormented them during the Minecraft:Before Times.

Architecture

Template:Expand section The City uses Minecraft:redstone in much of it's infrastructure. One house in the book is described to have toggleable lighting in addition to torches, and Minecraft:minecarts are used for transportation, which can be dangerous to pedestrians to the point where it is stated that the City is significantly more dangerous during the day.

Location

Template:Expand section Most of the exact geography of the City is unknown. According to one of the characters, the City contains most of the world's population, and all who live outside are part of the City's economic ecosystem. The terrain on the border of the city has been deforested and strip-mined by the Redstone Company. Further out, but still less than a day's walk away from the City, is a small civilization of zombies. By the end of the book, the deforested lands have been revitalized to the point of being indistinguishable from untouched nature.

Quotes

Minecraft:Brant didn’t even have to try to be cool. His parents were the richest people in The City and ran the redstone contraption company Redstone Co. Even though it was called Redstone Co., it dealt with a lot more than Minecraft:redstone, and its contraptions and merchandise were basically what kept The City running these days. Redstone Co. got The City its Minecraft:coal, Minecraft:iron, Minecraft:wood, brewing items, Minecraft:bonemeal, Minecraft:lava source blocks for Minecraft:obsidian, and so much more. Brant’s parents threw the best parties in The City, so naturally their son was popular.
