The fotia scrub is a [[StarCitizen::Category:Flora|plant]] in Star Citizen that is native to Pyro 1.

Seedpods

It relies on solar flares for its reproduction. Rather than having traditional stamen and pollen, it allows StarCitizen:radiation from flares to mutate its genetics before releasing its seedpod.<ref name=":0">Star Citizen: Fotia Scrub Plant, artstation, Daniel Peres, June 20 2025</ref>

Some enterprising individuals seek out and collect the seedpods because of their natural radiological properties that can be utilized in various ways.<ref name=":0" />

Development

The Fotia scrub is a plant asset created for the dark, gloomy and blue toned StarCitizen:biomes of Pyro 1, with the intention of contributing to the visual narrative of an alien, aggressive and hostile environment. This asset was made with the clear intention of looking dangerous and unpleasant, which is achieved by not only dark and pale colours, but also a very aggressive shape language with spikes across all surfaces of the pant. <ref name=":0" />

The Fotia also has a Seedpod, an in-game harvestable, which breaks the almost monotone vibe of the plant by adding a tint of purple into the color palette.<ref name=":0" />
