Dragonwilds:Dragonfire Shield

Template:External Template:Infobox Item The dragonfire shield is a Dragonwilds:power level 7 Dragonwilds:masterwork Dragonwilds:shield that is obtained from the Dragonwilds:Icthlarin's Little Helper reward pack by completing Dragonwilds:Icthlarin's Little Helper. It can be crafted at a Dragonwilds:blacksmith's bench after obtaining a Dragonwilds:smouldering draconic visage from the same pack<ref>This is missing from the pack, a known bug.</ref> or from turning in Dragonwilds:Fuzan's head to Dragonwilds:Icthlarin afterwards, although it will require yet another Dragonwilds:anti-dragon shield. It can be ascended at the Dragonwilds:mystic forge using Dragonwilds:ascension cores.

Its Dragonwilds:special effect launches a burst of lava forwards on a Dragonwilds:parry, dealing 25 damage<ref>Note that there are no damage numbers for this effect.</ref> and causes Dragonwilds:Burning on nearby enemies, which deals 11 damage per second for 5 seconds for a total of 55 Burning damage. This effect does not have a cooldown. This damage will interrupt a stagger caused by a parry. Unlike the Dragonwilds:dragonblight shield and Dragonwilds:dragoncurse shield, this shield does not currently have the anti-dragon shield's special effect Dragon Breath Resistance.

This shield has an excellent synergy with the Dragonwilds:fire cape, which restores Dragonwilds:stamina when defeating Burning targets with melee attacks. Unfortunately, the fire cape and Dragonwilds:Enchant Weapon: Fire are just as good at causing Burning damage. Dragonwilds:Fire magic and Dragonwilds:fire arrows are also a common source of damage in a multiplayer setting that wouldn't stack, not to mention several enemies are resistant to Burning (like the knights and mages of Dragonwilds:Dowdun Reach) or immune to Dragonwilds:fire completely (like the Dragonwilds:KotHaar). The Dragonwilds:toktz-ket-xil's increased melee damage after a parry (which does not interrupt a stagger) may still be more valuable.

Trivia

• Although called dragonfire shield, the shield's ability is different from its Template:RSL and Template:OSL counterparts.
  • The ability is active when the player deflects an attack, and instead of a fireball, lava comes out of the shield.
