Walkthrough

Lending a hand...

Speak to Postie Pete and select Option 2 to talk about this quest. He will ask you (while making a bone pun) if you can help him with something. Accepting his question, Postie Pete will mention about how, by RPDT standards, he made a big mistake by misplacing some post. He will tell you that, as he looked in his bag, someone came by and nabbed three letters. This mysterious thief then fled into Fellhollow. He then tells you that, after taking a quick look, he noticed someone shifty near the little house just outside the entrance to Fellhollow. He will then ask you to take a look for him.

The Missing Postage

Item(s) recommended: Lodestone access to Fellhollow; Food, drink, and gear.

Walk slightly north-east of the entrance to Fellhollow (where you find Ravanna's Third Journal) and you will find a Suspicious Skeleton sitting down in a chair. Talk to it and you will find that they are animate in a similar manner to Postie Pete. They mention being bone idle for the moment and hating puns, but asks you what you want. You have the following options:

Click on Option 3, the skeleton will reveal that they haven't gotten any letters. This little accidental reveal will give you more dialogue options.

From this point, the skeleton will continue to gaslight you. They will say that you had already mentioned it before (No, you didn't) and, thus, open up new dialogue options. Choose Option 1 in this new dialogue and the gaslighting continues. By choosing Option 1 one more time, the skeleton will concede the gaslighting fight and give you one of the letters. Take this letter to a nearby red deposit box west of Vannaka's camp in Dragonwilds:Bleakfields Valley and deliver it.

Upon delivering it, a dialogue box will open up to inform you that when you posted the letter, you found a strange leaf that appears to partially fade into the spirit realm. It will then hint to you going into a spectral door.

Note: This will make the Suspicious Skeleton turn into uninteractable scenery once you acquire the letter from them. The relevant postage deposit box will vanish upon closing out of the dialogue box.

Part 2: The Spectral Postage

Head directly south-east of Cathan's location (at the standing stones) to a glowing wall torch with a letter mail satchel dangling down. Interact with it to acquire one of the missing letters. This letter will want you to deliver it to the standing stones in Bleakfields Valley. Immediately head towards Cathan's location and, before going up to see him, the red mail deposit box will be on the left side of the trail. Deliver the postage and a dialogue option will appear. It will tell you that you discovered a small patch of ghostly looking fluff and it looks like unspun wool. This will prompt you to look for the former owner.

Part 3: The Wooly Letter

Find a ghostly sheep named "Shaun" to retrieve a ghostly letter. He will be almost directly west of where the last postage deposit box was. Upon receiving the letter, you must take the letter to Imaru's Tower. As there are plenty of Rotsworn undead here, you will need to be careful.

Upon arriving at Imaru's Tower, another red postage deposit box will be in front of her tower off to the right. When you deliver the letter you obtained from Shaun, you will then need to return to Postie Pete. When you choose the option to continue the quest, Pete will thank you to delivering the letters and introduce you to the numbskull who caused the problem in the first place. It turns out that said numbskull was, in fact, Postie Pete's sibling and junior RPDT employee Parcel Pete. While Parcel Pete wanted to help out, it bungled everything up. Postie Pete will inform you that, due to Parcel Pete's "help", he put him on report and filing his PIP. He will then give you a decorative item that, in the future, will enable you to render further aid to him delivering letters.

Congratulations! Quest Complete!

Trivia

  • During the quest, there is a red postage hat, similar to Postie Petes' blue hat. This is an Easter Egg to the Template:RSL (RS3) character, Dragonwilds:Parcel Pete, who appears later in the quest.
