Dragonwilds:Xikotal
More actions
Xikotal was a large black-scaled dragon and Dragonwilds:Imaru's mate.Template:CiteJournal Like his mate, he protected the human settlement in Dragonwilds:Fellhollow, even during the Dragonwilds:Dragon Rebellion. He was killed by the Dragon Queen Dragonwilds:Kuldra when she descended on the region.
History
Xikotal's origin is unknown, but he is one of the many dragons created by the dragonkin. He and Imaru both settled within Fellhollow, where they would live in peace amongst the settlers that would migrate from the southern region, in hope to escape the trouble there. When the humans arrived, Xikotal joined Imaru in taking the settlers under their wing as protectors, at her urging.Template:CiteJournal The two and the settlers found peace among leaving with each other, with Imaru and Xikotal helping them build their city and assist them in other means, with Imaru using her magic to bring the rains, while Xikotal calmed the winds.Template:CiteJournal All this in exchange for a few sheep and cows.Template:CiteJournal Together they dreamed of a society where dragon and human could thrive in peace, a vision that might have made Fellhollow a new utopia.Template:CiteJournal Sometime later, Imaru would appoint several guards to protect them when they go into a long torpors.Template:CiteJournal Xikotal, in parallel, drew the strongest and most skilled marauders into the Dragonwilds:Scalesworn, an order chosen by him to stand watch over the dragons as they slept.Template:CiteJournal
Xikotal acted as a sort of judge and would provide absolution for crimes and sins. Those guilty of the gravest sins were given to him for conversion. He would breathe a fog into their minds, erasing their wicked past and offering them a fresh start.Template:CiteJournal For the isolationist knights of Dragonwilds:Dowdun Reach, he personally performed the vulcanisation that produced their black steel, offering it as a gift.Template:CiteJournal He also tried to draw the Zamorakians of Dowdun Reach into the wider community, presenting Dragonwilds:Lord Rasmodel with coal in one claw and iron in the other, hoping the offering would soften their determination to remain apart. Both gifts proved misguided: instead of drawing the Zamorakians toward Fellhollow, they outfitted Rasmodel's new Shadow Knights, who would ensure the rest of Fellhollow kept their distance.Template:CiteJournal Imaru and Xikotal also maintained an annual trade agreement with Dowdun Reach, sending an Emberwood cleric as their attaché to renew it with Dragonwilds:Archmage Alric and Rasmodel.Template:CiteJournal
After the Dragon Rebellion began, Kuldra had sent her dragons to wipe out the settlements of Ashenfall, minus a few. She saw the mercy both Xikotal and Imaru were bestowing on the settlements, and decided to deal with the matter herself. As Kuldra descended on the region, Dragonwilds:Atilius Rasmodel, one of Imaru's guards, would ride on top of Xikotal, some of the nobles clad in [[Dragonwilds::Category:Steel equipment|Steel equipment]] went to assist Xikotal and Imaru, in hopes of defending their new home and bringing an end to the reign of the Dragon Queen.Template:CiteJournalTemplate:CiteJournal Despite the help and numbers, they failed to bring Kuldra down. Atilius and Xikotal were slain by the Dragon Queen, who then pulled Xikotal's heart from his chest and devoured it before Imaru and all who had gathered to witness and join in the battle.Template:CiteJournalTemplate:CiteJournal Kuldra then departed the region, leaving Imaru to grieve as a cruel punishment for disobeying her.Template:CiteJournalTemplate:CiteJournal
His corpse, today can be found near Dragonwilds:Imaru's Tower, in Dragonwilds:Hope's Fall
Trivia
- Xikotal had a fondness for cats and kept hundreds of them in his lair; their purring helped him sleep.Template:CiteJournal
- In the RuneScape: DragonWilds narrative trailer, Xitokal appears to be a Green Dragon, but in the Dragonwilds:Battered Diary, they are said to be black-scaled.
- According to the Dragonwilds:Withered Journal, the remains of Xikotal is in the Dragonwilds:Lake of Lost Souls, despite it appearing elsewhere. It is confirmed that it was the writers being flowery with the text rather than specific. Template:CiteDiscord
