On August 27, it was stated on ChronicleLiveUK that Nethermined, a Newcastle-based Minecraft:MINECON event, would be an "Official Community Event" for the first time. This is the fifth time the event is held.<ref>Template:Citation</ref>

Biome chooser
During the livestream, viewers could vote for one of three Minecraft:biomes that could be updated. The biome with the highest vote would get new features, such as terrain changes and new Minecraft:mobs, in the next major update.<ref>Template:Ytl</ref> The two other biomes also get new features, but in a later date.<ref>Template:Reddit</ref>
During the live stream, the Minecraft:taiga biome won the vote and was a part of the Minecraft:Village & Pillage update.
Desert
Template:W, Minecraft:meerkats, and Template:W would be added.
Minecraft:Desert was voted as the last biome to be updated in the first poll.<ref name=first>Template:Tweet</ref>
Taiga
Minecraft:Sweet berries, Minecraft:campfires, and Minecraft:foxes were to be added.
Minecraft:Taiga was voted as the first biome to be updated in the second poll,<ref name=":0" /> which was part of the Minecraft:Village & Pillage update.
Savanna
Template:W, Minecraft:termites, and Minecraft:ostriches would be added.
