Minecraft:Burnt Man

An unidentified burnt man appeared during the events of Griefer, haunting Natalie within both the real world and Template:MC.

Appearance

The man appears to be heavily burned, with a texture resembling black ash and no visible detail. He lacks a visible mouth, eyes, or nostrils, his face instead contorting to concave in to resemble those shapes.

Personality

During the story, the man displays a sense of justice, wishing to punish Natalie for tormenting various players. He shows little care for explaining what will happen or what she did wrong directly, instead letting actions speak for his decisions. Even after she learns her lesson, he keeps a close eye on her, as if to ensure this moral sticks.

Abilities

Uniquely, the man appears in both the real world and a Minecraft:server. In both, he appears and disappears without warning, presumably teleporting. While in the real world, he is shown to create a house fire through unknown means, and appears immune to the effects of inhaling smoke. Throughout the story, only Natalie is shown to be able to see him. At the site of the fire, her parents don't appear to perceive him, while at the end another player only manages to hear he was with them. Although ghostlike in nature, the man appears to still be a physical being, as shown when he opens a door in the burning building.

Biography

At 1 in the morning, Natalie was on a griefing spree. She decided to mess with one last person before going to bed, killing them and rigging their house to explode. Unexpectedly, an additional person appeared, and warned her not to light the Minecraft:TNT. Despite threatening her several times, she shrugged him off, and went along with destroying the house. She got caught off guard by a sudden sound coming from her window, and realized the house next door was inexplicably burning down. By the time the fire department arrived, Natalie realized the man was standing in the fire site, and was horrified to realize she caused this. Now a changed girl, Natalie returned to apologize to her victim, and gave advice for avoiding griefers. While there, the two heard the burnt man still watching her, only for him to vanish once again.
