Minecraft:Grove
More actions
Template:For Template:Infobox biome A grove is a snowy forest biome that often generates on the sides of Minecraft:mountains. Similar to the Minecraft:snowy taiga, it is filled with Minecraft:spruce trees but the ground is covered with Minecraft:snow blocks and occasional Minecraft:powder snow patches.
Generation
Groves generate as mountain slope biomes, similar to Minecraft:meadows and Minecraft:cherry groves, but at higher altitudes and not as plateaus. They can also generate standalone on smaller peaks, sometimes measuring only a few blocks in size.
They can generate in the coldest to medium temperature zones with higher humidity. They often border Minecraft:jagged peaks and Minecraft:frozen peaks as mountain biomes and meadows in valleys, and they are replaced by Minecraft:snowy slopes in lower humidity. Groves commonly border medium forested biomes like Minecraft:forests, Minecraft:birch forests, Minecraft:taigas, Minecraft:dark forests, and Minecraft:old growth taigas.
In the coldest temperature zones, groves extend to entire valleys and hills around mountains, replacing Minecraft:snowy taigas and Minecraft:taigas, and also bordering Minecraft:frozen rivers and Minecraft:frozen oceans with tall cliffs or Minecraft:stony shores. Snowy taigas and regular taigas can sometimes generate as thin strips replacing rivers in highland snowy slopes.
Because groves are mountain biomes, they are almost guaranteed to have Minecraft:deep dark underneath, and commonly also Minecraft:dripstone caves or Minecraft:lush caves.
Description
A grove creates a forest of spruce Minecraft:trees on the sides of a mountain, reminiscent of a Minecraft:snowy taiga but the surface is covered Minecraft:snow blocks above a Minecraft:dirt ground, with Minecraft:snow layers on top. All spruce trees grow on a single block of dirt replacing snow blocks, with a slightly lower density than in snowy taigas.
Minecraft:Strips of Minecraft:powder snow occasionally replace snow blocks and the dirt below, where trees do not generate. Minecraft:Fallen trees and Minecraft:dying trees do not generate here.
Minecraft:Rabbits, snowy Minecraft:wolves and snow Minecraft:foxes can spawn in this biome. Like other mountain biomes, emerald ore and Minecraft:infested stone can generate in stone under the ground. Minecraft:Pillager outposts are the only structures that generate here.
With Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals, groves use default environmental settings with a coolish color grading, making the biome appear colder blue. They use cold sunlight, which is slightly brighter at dusk and dawn.
