12w38b is the seventh Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.4.2, released on September 21, 2012<ref>https://web.archive.org/web/20120921170606/http://www.mojang.com/2012/09/minecraft-snapshot-12w38b/</ref> to fix some of the bugs and crashes in the Minecraft:12w38a snapshot.

• Now makes the same sound as Minecraft:flint and steel when used.

Mobs

Minecraft:Creepers

• New fall mechanics.
  • Creepers Minecraft:explode if they fall on Minecraft:players from a certain height.

Minecraft:Sounds

• Updated sound engine library which resulted sounds no longer being cut off.
• Changed the new block placing sounds (implemented in 12w38a) back to original sounds.
