Minecraft:Java Edition 18w08b

18w08b is the twenty-second Minecraft:snapshot for Minecraft:Java Edition 1.13, released on February 22, 2018,<ref>Template:Snap</ref> which adds three types of Minecraft:fish mobs and Minecraft:fish buckets, adds a crafting recipe for Minecraft:dried kelp blocks, changes the Minecraft:player's underwater visibility and fixes bugs.

Minecraft:Fish buckets

• When Template:Control, they place a water source block and spawn the corresponding Minecraft:fish inside it.
  • Unused texture for an upcoming "Minecraft:clownfish bucket" added to the game files.

Minecraft:Spawn eggs

Mobs

• Added Minecraft:fish as mobs.
• They need Minecraft:water to live. Outside of water, they flop around before suffocating.
• They can be caught with a Minecraft:water bucket.

    • Spawn in Minecraft:cold ocean, normal Minecraft:ocean, and Minecraft:lukewarm ocean biomes.
    • Swim in groups of up to 9 cod.

    • Spawn in Minecraft:frozen ocean, Minecraft:cold ocean and Minecraft:river biomes.
    • Swim in groups of up to 6 salmon.

    • Spawn in Minecraft:lukewarm ocean and Minecraft:warm ocean biomes.
    • Inflate themselves when a Minecraft:player gets near.

    • They drop 1 Minecraft:pufferfish item when killed.

General

• Minecraft:Dried kelp can now be crafted into Minecraft:dried kelp blocks, which can be crafted back into dried kelp.

Changes

World generation

• Warm and lukewarm oceans now have sand floors.
• Warm deep ocean biomes no longer generate.

Gameplay

• Changed natural water visibility.
  • The longer a player stays underwater, the better they are able to see. (Maximum underwater visibility is given when a player stays underwater for 1 minute)
  • The Minecraft:Water Breathing status effect and Minecraft:Respiration enchantment no longer grant enhanced vision underwater.
