Minecraft:Kan

Kan is a character in the novel Minecraft: The End. He lives in the End and is the friend of protagonists Fin and Mo.

Appearance

Kan is described as having green eyes, unlike any enderman known for a very long time, for which he was bullied in the past. Minecraft:Karshen claims that Kan is in fact a human, though this is later discovered to be false.

Personality

Kan has an interest in music. He loves playing music on his Minecraft:note block. He frequently visits the End ship of his friends Fin and Mo. He practices in the Enderdome, but does not like it, especially because of the personalities of the people who organize it, and because of his general dislike of fighting and aggression.

Kan is overapologetic over things out of his control and has strong reactions to adverse situations. He trusts his friends and values their advice more than most endermen. He is known to quickly take action in a crisis.

Biography

Kan is introduced having left his hubunits and entered the End ship of Fin and Mo. Shortly after that, his hubunits come in and search the ship. In the meeting on the central island, Karshen reveals Kan as a human and berates him for this, throwing away his note block and throwing it into the Minecraft:void. Kan cries because of this, and is healed by a Minecraft:golden apple.

When Kan learns of the true nature of Fin and Mo, he teleports away in horror, but later reconciles. He talks with Mo for a while on one of the Minecraft:End spikes of the central End island, teleporting both of them away when the ender dragon attacks.

Later, it is revealed that Fin and Mo "broke the cycle" by deciding to save him. He eventually proves instrumental in the battle against the Minecraft:Ender Dragon when his music distracts the dragon long enough for it to be killed. After the battle, Kan visits Fin and Mo every day.

Relationships

Fin

Minecraft:Fin and Kan have a positive view of each other. Kan considers Fin to be a very trustworthy person and friend. He frequently discusses a meeting with Fin and Mo during Endermas when Kan was much younger.

Mo

Template:For Kan is also very friendly with Mo, giving her a similar degree of trust in information about his personal life and struggles. Mo also features in the Endermas memory.

Karshen

Template:For Kan and his hubunit Karshen have a very sour relationship, with the latter frequently berating the former. Among other things, Karshen berates Kan for being a human, although this is false. This conflict may be over Kan's hobby of playing on the note block: Kan adores music, but Karshen and the other hubunits find it annoying and repetitive.

Owari

Template:For Kan dislikes Owari, his trainer in the Enderdome, in part due to his dislike of the Enderdome in general and Owari's abrasive nature. Their conversations have degraded to the point of Owari simply telling Kan to get better at training.
